Sounds plausible, but I think Riki is well worth keeping. He does double the work off the ball than what Fifita does and he is just beginning to acclimatize to the day to day grind of the NRL. His game still has much more to offer. Fifita at $700K would be a bit too much to justify letting Riki go if he was priced well under that.

Even lazy Fifita is miles better by any metric but I do agree Fifita probably has an attitude problem.

This seems like an unpopular opinion, but I'd take Fifita over Riki every day of the week, and twice on Sundays.

Reynolds would put him over for a try a game easy.
Riki is another Capewell type player, reliable, decent, but offers no threat, both of them make no metres. Can we really afford to have two backrowers like that?

I'm also in the camp of I'd swap the two in a heart beat, if Fifita was around 650-700k range, I'd have no hesitation.

Riki is an awesome bloke but you have to be ruthless to win premierships, just like the Roosters and Melbourne dump players without a second thought.

Herbie just posted a Instagram photo hugging Oates and Paix after a try with the quote “love these guys”. Oates just shared it before on his Instagram. I think your reading way way too much into whatever you think you saw.

If anything makes me think Herbie might re-sign. Fingers crossed
When JT pressed him about it in the dressing sheds after the game, Herbie just started to talk reallly fast

My chocolate sauce tells me Haas is trying to convince Fifita to come back to us next year, who isn't loving life on the coast, I reckon we can afford to pay him around the 700k, and I think the Titans would be willing to release him.

It would very likely involve us releasing Riki to Melbourne though.
I wouldn't take Fifita back for 700k
I'd rather pay Herbie abit extra a bloke who puts in every game and keep Riki and Oates

No thanks

I have my reservations about him as a player and I like Riki, but Fifita could easily be the best backrower in the game with some attitude adjustment and coaching so I don't hate the idea either.
We aren't the team to adjust players shit attitudes anymore.

If that is true that Haas is trying to get Fifita back, that isn't the big take away there. The big take away is Haas is very much invested in the Broncs again if that's true and he is certainly playing like he is.

I think year Fifita has been putting the work in. I dont think he has been that lazy, the Titans just dont seem to play to his side of the field that much.

I'm just not sure we could afford to take Fifita. Are we even allowed to sign him on a contract way below his current one?

Yeah look, it's a tough one. I 100% see why some like yourself are against Fifita, he absolutely comes across as a bit of a Milford, all the talent in the world but too lazy to apply himself 100%.

But ultimately, I really trust DD and Ikin, if they make a judgement call and did go that way, I'd back it 100%.

700k for Fifita? That’s what he’s worth that’s a good fair number.

im warming up the shoulders.
I'm not denying his worth overall, just his worth to the Broncos who should be spending their money on a fullback, five-eight or hooker. Unless he can play those positions he can struggle on the Coast. It's what he wanted.

Unless he wants the 1.2 million freed up in the tits cap.
