They wouldn't trade him but I don't think they'd have a big financial advantage over other teams as he was only eligible for a Supermax contract at the Mavericks...so in theory he could go anywhere for similar money I believe? In reality he'll probably stay with the Lakers, he'd probably make a lot more with the NBA version of 3rd party deals, and its easier for them to build competitive teams than for anyone else.

I'm hoping that Luka goes to the San Antonio spurs after next season. Not that I'm a fan of their team or anything, but he and Wemby would be such an insane duo, it would be amazing to watch.

Yeah, its as one sided as it can get. The Mavericks window is pretty much just this year, and definitely they defensively improved, but Luka was 90% of their attack... and even if they somehow win, do many of their fans still forgive them?

I know Wayne is a big fan (or at least was before the injury) and wanted him to be the next Cody Walker type story. Hopefully he'll get a start at some point.
