Mariner needs to work on his defence and various things, but is it best for him to do that in the NRL or in Qcup where the stakes are lower. I don't think Madge considers Shiba a better player than Mariner, I don't even think it's a kick up the ass for Mariner, I think it's a plan for the long run. If it's better for Mariner to fix up his issues in Qcup then that's where he should do it, and then come back into the NRL when he's ready. I'd say that Shiba and Gos are both placeholders...

As it looks like Hetherington is now our 13 and Carrigan at prop, how many minutes do we think Hetherington will get per game?

Wow, shocked that Shibasaki has beaten Mariner for the centre spot and Gosiewski beat Piakura at backrow, especially with how the 4 played on Sunday. I guess there were clear signs with the team that was named last week. Both Mariner and Piakura are clearly better in attack but must not be as good in defence and Madge is focusing on defence. I guess we have enough attacking weapons anyway so makes sense to get our defence right and if these guys help that then I am on board. I could also see...

The best take away was that they all seemed to be singing from the same hymn book. Both in attack and defence. Everyone seemed to know their role, no matter their skill or experience - both in attack and defence. They were all talking, and looked like they knew where to be each ptb despite the shuffling, Titans made it easy on them though.
