I recall hearing that our 2008 side scored more tries from their own half than any other that year. I can't find anywhere that lists that stat, but highlights from that season include a lot of long distance tries.

That's inaccurate. Griffin has made changes in the face of multiple losses at the 'crunch time' of each year since 2012 now. 2012 - Moved Norman from 5/8 to fullback. 2013 - Swapped Ben Hunt into halfback for Peter Wallace.

Thurston has got to do better than that. Twice now he's let Hayne get the better of him for a Blues try.
