Look first of all,
Congrats to the bloke, and hopefully this gives him some confidence moving forward.
Perhaps not the right thread to really dig into his game.
Really happy to see him debut for NZ and hoping he really brings back some 2023 form into 2025.
In regards to comparing him to...
He will sign for sure.
From the outside in, he really does look like a player who genuinely likes the Broncos, and you would assume he would want to at least win one title here before thinking elsewhere.
He's also obviously quite close with a lot of the current crop... I'm pretty sure they...
I think its the best avail signing.
It was Madge then daylight second atm.
Hopefully we can just win ONE effin title. That's all we need to make everything right.
Once we get one, I feel like we will kick on.
Damn... talk about timing...
Not many around...
Any 'Ciraldo' like folks going around?
The only experienced coach avail is Madge... though surely Broncos coach > blues coach.
I'd take Madge over anyone else avail right now.
I mean for christ sake... weve had Henjak, Hook and Seibs...
100%
I've been off the NRL a long time... only my love for the Broncos has kept me loyal.
And I've seen the fans turn away from the game. All my mates who grew up watching it, have turned away as they were not die-hard club supporters like us tragics. Most have converted to NBA/EPL. So sad...
Honestly , sport journalism is Australia is an absolute shitshow.
I don't want to see us turn into a litigation country but 100% some of these journos should be taken to court so they stop writing absolute dribble. Should be illegal and some countries would absolutely not stand for this shit.
Disagree about Staggs/Carrigan/Haas
- Staggs has been a rare shining light this year, but I don't think he's 'feared' like a Hammer/LM type of player. He is still a premier SOLID centre, but he's not a LM (SOO game 2 this year LM)
- Carrigan and Haas are TOP-SHELF NRL players, we love em and we...
not to harp on this but
Not icing 2015 and 2023... daggers into our hearts... and you have to get those...
I think 1 title per decade is the absolute minimal expectation for the Brisbane Broncos, and 2 per decade is probably the pass mark.
Shamefully, the roosters (and Melbourne) have...
This concerns me greatly.
Josh Rogers and Jock Madden are SOLID... but they are not HIM.
We really lack that 'fear factor' that opposition teams have ... the only player that teams 'fear' is Walsh... and that magic has worn off a bit, since SOO.
That SOO hit on Walsh... that is going to...
100
The phins have a shot if they take on the Dogs week1. You wanna play the dogs week 1, although they are on a roll, they dont have the finals experience like the cows and eagles do.
Not saying it is an easy win, but its definitely a less experienced team in finals.
However week 2 is the...
I agree
Also - watching that presser... Billy got a bit caught out... he was still a bit raw, we had just got absolutely hammered... etc.
A verteran Billy headcoach probably handles that better.
Also Billy is really good at being diplomatic now, but he definitely has the 'grumply hothead' in...
Agree about Madge... 100% not the best plan.
In terms of Kevvie... 2022, I still think a top coach would have got us to 6th-8th considering the context of that season.
And this is the Broncos... what was once absolute powerhouse of a rugby league club. We want the best of the best...
my 2 cents , off the top of the dome:
- Mariner: he is definitely handy but I think he needs to develop into an 'ado-carr' type winger. Just finish and score tries. Doesn't have the size to be the metre-eater type back.
- Cobbo: We need the 2023 version... he looks slow and sluggish atm, and...
100% agreed.
And seeing snippets as punters on the outside... imagine how bad it is inhouse / amongst the NRL inner circle.
It wasn't outstandingly obvious until that origin series... remember when he wouldn't refer to the NSW team by name or something? ... He kept saying "the other mob" or...
