Beale is pretty iffy under the high ball IMO, he's dropped a few before hasn't he?
Teams down by 2 can exploit that in a big game IMO.
Overall, the warriors were UP no doubt - but those two kick tries killed us.
I'm hoping this doesn't rub off and have a chain effect in Origin (to the other players)... obviously NSW ant to ambush us game 1, easily their best (arguably only) chance of winning the series.
The way they train, eat etc. The players are in better physical condition, no doubt about that.
Old school players will have more of a footy brain and arguably more skill and finesse, but played over 80 minutes, 5m or 10m ... the New Era will win... however if you get into hypotheticals and...
I don't know about that - Slater has really proven himself IMO... He is the one of the most consistent players who has debuted post-2000. He's developed in leaps and bounds as a player and deserves to be labelled a top-shelf player.
Wallace/Soward... it just won't work against QLD. I'm not saying they are bad players, but I don't think they are the halves to beat the current QLD team. If NSW want to give themselves the best chance possible - IMO Carney should be 6 and the 7 should be the player you think will best suit...
Definitely... No one denies he is a great player but NSW are waaaaaaaaaaaaay too quick to come out and say these things all the time. Great forward, but not the best in 50 years. In terms of work rate and stats he is right up there, but I would never consider stats to be the main category in the...
Agree on Idris - It's quite baffling actually. He's fast enough to cause a lot of damage. Shocking attempts at tackling though and poor reads in defense.
Kidley - He gets picked in every rep side because he is that 'utility' player that covers all the in-game injuries. They need him.
Benji - He will never be a consistent game winner or a JT type player... however, without a doubt - In my opinion, he is the player that gets kid to fall in love...
Storm are NOT the only ones that use these 'tactics' but they are definitely one of the worst offenders - if not the worst. Most of all they started it - and it ended up being "if you can't beat them - join them" ... sort of.
Melbourne are incredibly textbook, to be frank - boring. This is...
That is the biggest flaw with the system - but I guess it comes down to... if you can't get up for semi-final to get into the GF as minor premiers... at HOME... well... you don't deserve to be in the GF.... You're practically given a free ride there...
However I would prefer a conference...
Lately I've been trying to watch some of the 06/07 games... they don't seem to work... it keeps telling me to install Silverlight when I already have it... does anyone else have this problem?
From the outside in - it looks like it's going to be Mal or Joey.
Let's face it... Joey will be eventually so I think it might go to Mal first. (purely a chronological thing)
Yes.
I don't understand why players get up in arms about it as well - It's a 17 man game and his time WILL come. It should be about what is best for the team.
This reminds me of when reading Tallis' book about when he was on the rise as a young kid and people were calling B. Smith's head for...
I said SOMETIME - hence the 'Melbourne in Melbourne'.
I remember in 09 we went down there after a MASSIVE game against the Dragons and they ambushed us - albeit the TC at 6 tactic was used, regardless it was a shalacking.
(Broncos/league talk combined)
--> If the season falls into place without any doozies (I'm sure there will be a few)... most likely... to win the title you are going to have to beat the Storm in the finals at SOME stage...
Can we beat Melbourne in Melbourne?
I think we can take them at...
Thaiday - He's a gun but I have to say it - he drops ball at CRUCIAL times (coach killer). One day ... it might be in a really big game (aka SIMS 2008 -not hating on SIMS, I'm just saying - something like that incident) He makes up for it no doubt but I just hope... it never causes heartbreak!
