Yes I have, and my opinion still stands. He is a downhill runner. He can do some freakish stuff for a forward, but only on the back of field position and momentum earned by others. He would have been useless in Origin 2.
Fifita has played Origins before and has been almost invisible. In club games you can disappear for 60 minutes and then have a highlight reel 20 minutes and it gets papered over. Not in Origin.
Not only missing Reynolds (countered by Cleary out) but also missing Riki & Staggs, 10+ injuries total, and losing our halfback at half time... against the Panthers... and we didn't get beaten by 24+? I'll take that compared to the previous 4 games. Good signs IMO.
Watching the game last night, credit to the Rabbitohs because the refs were favouring the Eels pretty much the entire game. In games where I don't care who wins, it's easier to be impartial and if anything I wanted Fattrell to choke, but they earned that win. The only theory I can suggest is...
Agree, and the Captains Challenge is the one avenue that teams have up their sleeve if they get a genuine dodgy call - it gets highly scritinised from all angles and in slow-mo for everyone to see. They still don't always get them right, but if it's a howler and the bunker goes along with it...
Same point applies. We saw what happened when the Storm and other grub teams got penalised out of games, the media went apeshit and reverted to "leniency".
The 6-again was to prevent the offending team from having time to reset their defence (which is why they were giving the penalties away). I...
I agree in theory, but we know what teams will get sent. And we know what teams will keep infringing because the ref won't blow the penalties and risk having to send someone from that team.
The 6-again was brought in for a genuine reason, and that was to prevent teams like the Roosters deliberately giving away penalties in order to allow their defence to reset.
Further, when the Panthers used the rule to be permanently off-side while pinning an opponent on their line (with the...
What's this Paix to the Dolphins rumour? It would deal the Broncos a savage blow and almost certainly confirm that the Dolphins are in fact the dominant Brisbane team. The Broncos would be in crisis. I have also heard that Paix is training the house down in anticipation of the move to Redcl...
Crazy talk. Next thing you'll tell me is that this "team" is there to tell the other teams what to do, and have the power and ability to influence games. Oh and part of the "team" includes a mystery string-puller in a secret off-site location, and they watch everything, secretly tipping off...
One of the worst injury-affected years we've had since the Spoon season, I can genuinely see why Kev didn't want to risk OUR BEST PLAYERS with a short turnaround, which is just exposing them to exponentially more injury risk. Jagging one game during Origin is not as important as our run home.
Training is very different to in-game situations. But regardless, same situation applies:
Dropping them at training as well? Improve and stay in the lower grades until you get better. Safe hands at training but not in games? Play in the lower grades where the stakes are not as high until it...
He's not accepting the mediocrity, he is forced to accept the situation. Sailor should have been out of the team long ago, and Mariner should have gone to Q Cup to work on his handling. To do that, we'd call on our experienced depth like Hoeter and Pereira to hold the fort. But both are out for...
The money getting made is via legit gambling organisations... who then pay the NRL a % of the takings. This has 100% been Vlandys' main priority since getting the gig, his history was in horse racing which only exists as an avenue of gambling (would anyone watch it if you couldn't bet on it?)...
