I swear the opposition don’t even mark up on Oates because they see what we see. That gives them more numbers to shut Herbie down. I really hoped Herbie would be the one to finally link up with Oates given the issues we’ve had getting the ball to him in the past.
Oates hit ups are exactly what is expected of him. At least he gets the quick play the ball and doesn’t get wrestled backwards like the others. It’s the ones that don’t pass when they should that is the biggest problem.
Glad I’m not the only one saying this now. I didn’t watch this game but Herbie has been almost as big a ball hog as Moga so far. Moga’s only passes were hospital passes and could count his passes for an entire season on one hand. At least Herbie has passed one and Oates scored.
Once again it comes down to not getting the ball to him. We're still terrible at getting the ball out to him on the wing. Herbie likes to run himself and I'm sure i've seen quite a few occasions where he should pass.
Lachlan Lewis ;). I'm only half joking. He sits down big boppers very effectively - TPJ twice in one game. I'm sure you can find missed tackle stats for him because he goes looking for defensive work - saved his team mates many times. He even tackled Cody Walker at half time.
Like for Oates comment. Things happen when centres pass the ball to him. Also made some great catches so thanks Tigers for giving more practice.
Riki made those big misses defensively and I think we'd have been better served with Bullemor.
Gamble muffed a couple of opportunities and didn't seem...
Niu looks twice as solid as Walsh which will hopefully help his defense but yeah they are probably both similar in speed. Good over short distances but both have been chased down by faster players.
Walsh does seem more likely to create something though.
Yeah. He usually nails those though. I'm just a little worried he's out of sorts on the wing\ at the Broncos.
Hasn't had a lot of practice in games lately either i guess.
I'm keen for Kev to stick with this teamlist. Get some stability going.
If Isaako's boot wasn't out of order we'd have won even more comfortably. I hope he comes good again soon and can accept his position is wing (for now).
I think we should stick with Isaako Oates on the wing. Isaako used to come in off the wing as much as Coates does but it can be fixed with...
This is pretty cool. Qld squad practising against Wynnum Manly (Facebook link):

Gulls probably put up more of a challenge than the Broncos.
