Re: is the master coming home
Ummm - show me where Dragg X said in this quote or anywhere else that he wants the club to fail - he has always said that if Bennett came back and we still didn't win another premiership (or even if we missed the 8) under his stewardship, then Draggx wouldn't be...
I don't understand how people are reading this and seeing that it makes Henjak look bad - I just think this article was Henjak's opportunity to give his side of the story and neither makes him look worse or better for it.
Re: is the master coming home
Ummmmm for most of last week the majority on here were saying if Bennett comes back, Locky will be his understudy and then be our coach in 2 years time. OK so maybe no-one said that specifically, but it has certainly been the vibe around here since Locky...
Unfortunately the salary cap has ensured that neither the Broncos nor any other club will again have the on-field standard of excellence or be a powerhouse club like we were in the 90s. If the current salary cap was in place back then, we would not have had the dominant teams we had.
In that situation I'd say everyone would wait until 5 mins before kick-off to buy tickets and there would be utter chaos at the ticket counters and then the game start would be delayed because most people still wouldn't be inside the ground yet
Personally ATM I can't really split them. I am more of a Hunt fan, but that is because I have seen more of him play over the years and know what he can do. I would love to see the club take the very brave option and pair them up in the halves together and develop them as a long term...
This thread was started because the discussion in the other thread is Off-topic to that particular thread.
I expect ning will move those posts here at some stage icon_smile
Agree with Coxy - our current youth, with as much potential as they have, aren't quite there just yet. So if we can get value for money looking outside the club I'd support it. If no-one that's going to be true value for money then I say we continue to work with and develop our youngsters...
He said not long ago that he wants to coach the Broncos (it's somewhere in another thread here but I can't be bothered finding it); however also said when he announced his retirement that he intends to take 12 months away from the game completely.
I totally agree that he needs to get away...
Re: Darren Lockyer Retirement plans?
I may be wrong (most likely am), but I thought that defecting RU players are excluded from the Salary Cap for the first couple of years. I'm sure I heard something along those lines.
Re: is the master coming home
Agree 100%
And Wayne actually said a similar thing in an interview on 4BC yesterday - that he thinks Locky has the makings of a good coach but only if he is willing to do it properly - serve a proper apprenticeship, get a wider experience (I took this bit to mean...
Re: is the master coming home
I'd much rather we let Hook have 3 years (and actually give him the three years) to start the re-build of the new dynasty - and if we're in good shape then give him a further extension.
Also WB has regularly said he has ambitions to coach 3 different sides to...
Yes because the question is the greatest player PERIOD - which IMO is defined as pure on-field during the game ability. The question isn't about which player was able to sustain the highest standard over the longest period of time; who was a better player/person; which player had the most...
The poll needs to define "modern era" better.
For mine Lewis is the greatest player I have ever seen play, but I don't consider him to be a player of the modern era - it has been almost 20 years since he retired (same goes for Mal, don't think he belongs in the poll either due to the era...
Re: is the master coming home
Seriously how many different threads do we need to have discussing this topic?
I mean if and when he actually signs start a new thread - until then can't just keep it all in one thread?
