TBH, pretty much no player is as impressive in their first few games as they are built up to be. All young guys need to be given decent time and opportunities without the excessive pressure to show if they are really worth it or not.
So moving either the start or the end of the season to fit all the games in then? Either way something has to change/move unless we just stay with the current situation.
Oh spare me. Origin has not always been played on Wednesdays. In fact I think when it first started it was played on Mondays (I am sure someone else will be able to correct me on that if not). SOO has been played on a few different days of the week through it's history.
It's that kind of...
But I also gave it a chance before I worked for them and had also done so since I stopped working for them.
And I used to work as part of their game day and events project team. Some of the players from back then I still count as some of my closest friends - but I still think their game is...
FWIW - I have watched a lot of union throughout my life - I used to work for the QRU - and still catch games these days (in fact I would have given union more of a chance than you've given the Q Cup), and I find it boring and rarely enjoy it.
On another note - methinks this thread has gone way...
Well Prince was pretty much permanantly injured while with the Broncos and Barnes ditched us to go back to his true love of Rugby - we didn't really have a lot of choice of the 3 in the end. But yeah I was pretty disappointed that Seymour didn't work out for us.
Yeah I heard the same, but that it was basically the NRL (which is who I meant by "the powers that be" that thought it wasn't a good look and basically put some pressure on the Qld based clubs to have their U20s play the Toyota Cup and not the Q Cup.
Re: Queenslander's passion for sport
Exacatly - season members got first dibs on buying their seats for the double header, so the fact that Manly fans were able to buy them says the season members decided not to go.
Why is it sad? I don't know how much Q Cup you watch but it is actually a pretty high standard of footy, most games are not that far below NRL standard. The sad things are:
a) The NSW Premier League is no-where near as good as the Q Cup;
b) The powers that be think the U20s Toyota Cup is a...
Re: Queenslander's passion for sport
Actually Rock on the radio this morning they were talking about some cost of living research that has just been done and whilst yes they did find that Sydney is the most expensive city in Australia, it was also found that Sydney has the highest incomes of...
Except Locky has said he plans to spend 12 months completely away from RL - so I don't think he'll be there to help out too much next year.
Personally I think Norman would do a fine job, but he needs to not have the pressure on him to basically just walk in and be at top standard - he will need...
If neither GI or Hodges are fit for the game I think we'll moved Boyd into the centres and bring in another winger (as previously mentioned by someone else).
Except for people at the game and news feeds giving you the score ahead of what you are seeing. This is my biggest gripe about delayed coverages - no matter how hard I try to avoid it, somehow I always end up at some point finding out the score ahead of what I'm seeing.
And I'd be more for...
