I would rather we just stick without our current roster and let them develop rather than buying more players - unless there is a really really decent 5/8 on the market and TBH there actually aren't that many really really decent 5/8s in the game currently, let alone on the market.

Yep - we've always had our best success when we've used our "home-grown" talent and only signed someone from elsewhere if they really were a proven game-winner/star
