After the past two games I'm convinced more than ever that we're in a better position to make a run for a premiership in the next 2-4 years than most of the other teams (teams currently 7-16 on the ladder, plus Eels). There is light at the end of the tunnel, and it should be enjoyable to watch...
A few trains of thought here...
1. By the time his current contract is meant to end, we should have extra money available from the contracts we're paying for players who have left to play at other clubs (Lodge, Pangai Jnr, McCullough, Ofahengaue?...) which could go towards Haas.
2. If we...
I don't have any issue with the "chopping and changing" of the lineup so far this season. It was fair enough to give Milford/Dearden/Croft first crack given they were in our top 30 and on proper NRL contracts. When it became clear none of them were going to be part of the picture going...
Our first attacking set in the second half was at around 68:00, 28 minutes into the half! Same happened last week - way too much dropped ball coming out of our own half.
Both teams were terrible in goal line defense last night but the difference was they were camped down our end for most of...
Doesn't Lodge have the same "de-registered" manager as the Knights coaches (O'Brien, Seibold)? The same one that had around 15 players and a lot of pull at the Broncos over the past few years as a result? I got the impression from this article that that's where a lot of the agitation for...
Will Walsh stay at the Warriors beyond this contract, particularly when they move back to being based in NZ? With a couple of years under his belt, he'd be an ideal 'marquee' recruitment for the 2nd Brisbane team. I just can't see him staying in NZ past 2023.
I don't really have a problem with anything Vlandys has said there. Broncos problems are entirely the doing of the Broncos board and management over the past 6+ years. Likewise with the Bulldogs, who got their cap in a bad place under Hasler and haven't recovered.
I can't help but think they'll go with whoever is most likely to convince Cameron Smith to sign with us for next year, which is why this is all coming to a head suddenly.
I know our season's gone to shit but it is so exciting to see a proper quality young half in Dearden so involved and taking the lead in the team. The most important player to re-sign imo.
The current home jersey is horrible. A lot of home jerseys released by clubs over the years just look like something you can't picture anyone winning a premiership in, and the current one is a good example of that. The 2013-14 one was the same (if not worse). It may have been maroon and gold...
If we're keeping Dearden over Milford then I'd rather see Dearden replace him this season, given there's no Qld Cup for him to play in. This is also why I'm okay with all the youth in the team.... where else are they meant to play this year to continue developing? Happy to take the losses this...
