Agreed with all this. Our biggest failings all season were laid bare last night - too many injuries to key players, brain fades, poor 5th tackle options and options in the attacking 20m. We were still good enough to make the final 4, not good enough to beat the best team. The game was gone...
I much prefer the current system to the previous 'benefit of the doubt = try' system.
I don't think the calls were that controversial in that game; the Manly player was clearly offside in the first one that was disallowed, and there was no reason to deny Peachey a try in that second one. It...
Not too unhappy with the loss, as it was clear the unforced errors let us down. We had it over the Roosters otherwise.
It also means if win next week and then lose to Storm it will be in the prelim final which is preferable to losing to them in the GF imo.
Pearson had the worst individual game for a player I've seen this year. Gave up the first 18 points himself. Marshall with two crucial errors when he came on. Barely saw Milford all night.
Broncos need to fix its record at ANZ; three very uninspiring games there this year, probably thanks...
Agreed completely. Needs to be used a lot more and they should make it a 'powerplay' for professional foul sin bins, so that the player can return after a try is scored by the opposition. Full 10 minutes should only be for foul play (e.g. punching/slapping)
It's not the worst thing to lose Milford for just this week imo, especially with Pearce also out. Let him get over the pressure of playing his first Origin and not making him play 3 games in a week.
It doesn't make sense to rush Hunt back in for tomorrow when we've been winning and are going to need him fully fit for the origin period. If we lose to the Tigers it won't be because he was missing.
Broncos should be embarrassed by that. Stopped playing footy after scoring the try (as we do every time we get a lead) and it showed with the dumb plays on the drop outs. Bulldogs should've won by 20+ with the amount of attack they had.
I disagree. There were plenty of times she disagreed with the other panellists/news journos on the "10 in the bin" segment on the Sunday Footy Show. Most times she was the one who was spot on, too.
I don't think her other roles gave her much room to do this anyway, that is not why she was...
Slightly off topic, but just want to mention how appalling the Dragons home jersey for next year is (at the very least, the replicas - the player issued versions remain to be seen). It's possibly the worst jersey I've ever seen due to how wonky and incompetently-drawn the red V looks.
It doesn't hurt to put a bit of selection pressure on Milford and Hunt which is something that didn't happen this year and wouldn't have happened next year otherwise.
