Best decision the NRL's made in a while. The refereeing is absolutely nowhere near as bad as what everyone makes out. I can remember threads on this and other league forums 14-15 years ago whinging about Robert Finch and how bad the refs were under him back then.
I'm sick of hearing coaches...
I think it's too early and easy to give up on the Titans. Let's not forget that Gold Coast A-League team was only getting crowds of 2-3000 even when performing strongly.
That Centre of Excellence business was a complete mess, and while they had a reasonable squad to start off with their star...
Not sure why we're going back over this but Beale was the fullback and with the ball going up, he was perfectly entitled to catch the ball as he saw fit as that was his role and his responsibility. Lockyer, being the champion player that he was, made the extra effort to get back and try and...
That 2002 game is still one of the most impressive Broncos wins I've ever seen. From what I recall, we played utter rubbish against the Panthers the week before, but this was for top of the table and the team grew another leg after tallis got sin binned in the second half.
And yes, it was...
Well there's no doubt that Slater at fullback and Inglis at centre would be a hell of a lot stronger than putting that souths hack Dylan Walker in the side. What a joke selection that was.
Slater has made his fair share of dumb plays in critical games but overall they are both fantastic...
I'm happy for Parker to be captain but can we please keep him the hell away from the goalkicking duties. I've totally over seeing us score more/equal tries than the opposition yet losing the game because of goalkicking.
In 2002 at home against the Raiders when Corey Parker went up to catch a bomb and landed flush on his bald head. Was lucky to walk away from that one.
The last two rounds of 2003. It was depressing enough that we had lost 7 of our 8 previous games, but then we lost to Parramatta at home...
- Test matches involving the Kangaroos are far and away my favourite rugby league games to watch and support, particularly when they play over in England. I wish this would happen more often.
- The refs are no where near as bad as what everyone makes out. It's a shame they make clear...
The second half showed why they did deserve to be there. Most of the teams below us on the table would've folded in the second half (look at Parramatta the last two weeks).
In the end it is the same two things that have cost us all season - shit goalkicking and unforced errors (out on the...
From what I recall, Michael Witt was a gun on the first Rugby League game (by Sidhe) ~ 10 years ago. At least I seem to recall always picking him as my halfback.
There couldn't be a better time to break a hoodoo than on Friday night. If Cowboys win tonight then the Broncos/Warriors/Bulldogs all win next weekend the Storm would miss the 8 which would pretty amazing.
