    Benji is back: Bennett

Lets be honest , to find a playmaking role for Benji would mean a major reshuffle. How about Benji to 5/8. Milford to Fullback . Boyd to centre and Moga to bench where he could fill in as a foward or a back. I know I am probably going against popular and accepted opinion , but I have...

POST GAME Round 16 - Raiders vs Broncos

Benji is a natural ball playing 5/8 . We have not rally had one since Locky retired. And he still has reasonable speed. We are going to need him in the run to the finals.

    Game III Queensland Origin team

I think playing along side Cronk , Hunt could get the job done. However I would be fine with Cronk at 7 and Munster at 6 and Morgan in the centers. We have the backs anyway you dice it to win this. Both Hunt and Munster are great competitors and can tackle bigger guys , which is a...

Thurston out Hunt In Boyd out Munster in Mayby Papalli out,and Kafusi or Sims in. Need to know why Papalli was relatively flat on Wednesday. Would love to see Oates back in but not ready to dump Holmes yet, but would not argue the point too much

    Game II Discussion

Just watched a repeat of the match sober and still think Gavin Cooper was our best forward and the best forward on the field. I don't quite understand why he is not getting more credit. Also I have no qualms in saying that Qld were the better side on the night all be it a close contest. And...

    Game II Discussion

You have to give Kevie Walters and the rest of the coaching staff some credit for the win. One thing I noticed was the more then normal number of hit ups taken by the backs. I think that was tactical ploy by the coaches to give the forwards some extra gas to continue to maintain the line...

    Game II Discussion

Have to look at the game again to really analyse it , but watching it last night( with a fair few ales on board) I thought Gavin Cooper was immense in the middle. Did he play the full 80? So pleased that McGuire played a crucial role in the win with that great...

    OFFICIAL Game II Queensland Side

I have watched a fair few old games from the 70s and 80s and it is very obvious that the game and player skills have undoubtedly improved immensely. But some things have changed for the worse such as this blatantly walking off the mark and tunnel ball play the balls . And just when did this...

    Anthony Milford's Injury

I guess I must have missed that one. I am taking it that the general concensus was no to Milford at FB.

    OFFICIAL Game II Queensland Side

I think this is pretty much the best team we can put on the field. We are putting a lot of faith the forward replacements to plug up the middle and also give us a lot more go forward. I think they can do it. If we can come close to at least matching them in the forwards , I have full...

    Anthony Milford's Injury

Yeah I know . And its probably off the topic of this thread , but I think Milf is actually more suited to full back then 5/8 . So wishful thinking on my part.

    Anthony Milford's Injury

if Milford comes back before seasons end , will he be up for front line defence required of a 5/8 ? I know teams already send a lot of forward traffic his way. Might be an argument for shifting Boyd up to centres and put Milf at fullback and Benji to 5/8.

    OFFICIAL Game II Queensland Side

I like Oates and he can consider himself very unlucky not to be in the team. But FWIW I think Holmes will give us more in attack. I am beginning to wonder whether Oate's "hit up " returns are really sustainable in the long term. He takes a lot of hard tackles and it is hard to see him...

POST GAME Round 14 - Broncos vs Rabbitohs

Fairly good defensive effort against a very determined but clunky South Sydney. A few thoughts. Oates looked tired as he well should be after the punishment he has taken over the last few weeks. Should have been rested IMO. Thank goodness we have at least one forward offloading in Blair...

    Any AFL Fans?

Don't mind watching the grand final, but in essence it is a foreign game to me , on a par with basketball. It all depends on what code you grew up with . Much prefer AFL to soccer which I just can't watch . They do have good commentators.

    Game II Queensland Origin Team

Yeah , you are probably right . I can still remember blocker Roach hitting the deck hard time and time again with only one guy around his ankles . Would probably need to go more conventional when close to our line though.

I seem to remember the same tactic (low tackling) was used successfully to stop blocker Roach in SOO years ago. With Fifita we will definitely need to wrap him up top as well as he is going down

    Game II Queensland Origin Team

Actually thought Guerra went ok off the bench . Myles and Liillyman should go. For me I would nearly be incline to drop Thaiday before Guerra , unless he can show us something next week . And I am a long time fan of Sam . But lets face it , his best attribute is his ability to charge...

    Game II Queensland Origin Team

Just watched the Broncos Roosters match . Sam Thaiday had another game where he had very little impact coming off the bench. Might be time to really question the notion that he should be an an automatic selection. And I know I will be criticized for saying it , but dam it , he is...

VOTE Darius Boyd vs Billy Slater

If we get beat with Billy in the team , well so what ? No ones blaming Boyd for the first game loss and I would hope no one would blame Billy if we loose the second unless he had a shocker. This champion has earned the right to go out on his terms just like Locky , Petro and Price , Wally...
