Well its between these two. I rate Billy slightly higher because of his longevity in the position and I think he is a little better under the high ball. But talking of Locky , he retired when he was yards slower then in his prime whereas Billy has lost little, if any speed. I just...
Billy is playing pretty much as good as ever right now. Lets face it he is a freakish talent and whose to say he cant keep up this form for another year or two. Normal rules may not apply. If he has lost any speed it is certainly not obvious to me and he certainly has lost none of his passion...
Forget about next year. I think we can still win this series with JT AND Slater back. Absolutely sucked that he was not in game one. Only Boyd should go to the centers to replace O' Neil and leave Gaigai on the wing. Boyds great talent for setting up wingers to score tries would surely be...
Why not Biily to fullback and Boyd to the centers and leave Gagai on the wing ? Boyds passing game is one of his best attributes and more often then not he is setting up wingers to score tries. We loose that if he is just plunked on the wing.
We need more scheming in the second game. Its pretty unlikely we can match the blues forwards physically so we need to use our heads more. Our chief schemer, JT, was missing and the other two just seemed overwhelmed behind a dominated foward pack. Thats one reason we really need Billy back . He...
Unfortunately we cannot rule out Kevie making next to zero changes . Selectors often seem to live in their own bubble and seem to hate to admit they got it wrong the first time. Lets see.
One good thing to come out of the game is that NSW took it to the next level , which means at least Qld have no option but to at least try and go with them. Five hit ups and a kick and hope to induce an error from the blues just wont cut it anymore.
TBH I am so sick of that stuff...
TBH I hardly noticed him. He probably did not do much wrong and did make a couple of half breaks . He is only 22 and still developing his game as a NRL 5/8. He is just not quite there yet IMO.
Well things fell nicely into place for the Blues and the game just went the way most of the experts said it would. The Blues were always the better team on paper and they played that way. They were at least a 20 point better side.
But this series is far from over. In the long run it was better...
Probably a long shot ,but does anybody have the audio of Kev Kelleys famous " It's great to be a Queenslander " comment on his radio call of a pre origin interstate match in the 70s?
Might give these youngsters who seem ambivalent on who wins this origin series a taste of what it...
All good points. Plus Woods has been pretty clunky for the tigers . Their back row is very potent , but ours are no slouches.
Now that Myles in in the team I sure hope he plays to his maximum potential.
Precisely. If it were at all possible , I would love to see the Blues never win another game , let alone another series. They have always proven to be arrogant winners as much as they are poor loosers.
Does anyone really want to hear Gus Gould or Andrew Johns lecturing us on NSW superiority...
Might be stating the obvious , but we are sure going to miss Matt Scot. Not really sure where our hit up meters are going to come from .
On paper , at least we are outgunned in the fowards for size , offloaders an possibly speed . But I guess it was a similar story last year. It seems...
Bob should really be calling for a senate enquiry into this. He might be best to hold off until after the series though , because if we loose the series without Slater there will likely probablly need to bea royal commission.
