Gees take it easy I was just asking a question, in part rhetorical. I'm guessing things have changed in Origin since the 80s, like hell people today would get away with what they used to. And I'm betting club coaches don't want to see players beating the shit out of other club players and...
It is. I'd like to know how much club loyalty happens on the field at origin level. Surely it doesn't just go out the window, if this was Taylor coming in injured, would Bird go easy on him? Hopeless example I know.. But hopefully you see what I'm getting at
Now that both teams know it's done...
I understand state pride and why cronk would want to come back and I applaud it but by that logic, why was teo picked when he's just buggering off overseas next year?
Cronk coming back could potentially be a bad thing for the storm but I get that this probably isn't the place to highlight that lol
And I hate how high my blood pressure rises when I see guys who've been injured attempted to be reinjured by grubs
The logic for potentially giving a jersey to a rookie last game was because of injury. I'd hope the story means more to Queensland than to see our best guys retire through injury (Tate) and being forced out of a career and then having no choice but rely on young guns. Isn't that what happened...
I agree but cronk is a mere mortal.. Can't play forever. He's great but it's a bit presumptuous to imply qld have had it once all these guys who give their all have to retire, over guys (within reason and form obviously, Meninga's made some strange calls but he's not about to pick Robert lui)...
I just hope someone can toss this stupid one punch you're off thing out the window and throw one if the situation calls for it. Who wants to see the niggle that went on last game?
Should clarify what I meant, not to say it wouldn't be a tough physical game, but one could maybe hope there won't be as many late hits, knee twisting etc as game 2? It felt like there was more than usual last game
True but I'd feel more confident in cronk if he'd played this week
It's great for qld to finally have a decent kicker back but inspirational doesn't always equal points on the board
Might be the closet storm fan in me but I'd hate to see him reinjured for playing
And I definitely don't want...
Maroons' Will Chambers at centre of assault complaint
I can't begin to imagine the sledging from nsw if qld were to blood rookies and we lost in a whitewash, but at the end of the day isn't it pride that's gotten us to this point of being 2 games down anyway? In a game that really doesn't...
The only possible reason is that mal wants to see out the series with the as close to the dynasty team as possible and limited rookies and will blood young guys next year. Makes no sense to me, wouldn't this game be the ideal time to trial guys...? Got nothing to lose
I bloody hope mal is picking Chambers for more than just the fact he's team mates with slater.. Why not winterstein, or vidot? Feel sorry for Lawrence too, Gees what's he got to do
Andrew Johns saying that Carney shouldn't be sacked because he wasn't hurting anyone, that logic sounds freakishly similar to the "we won't suspend you Reynolds because you didn't break Brent Tate's neck" logic
Can't see why he's on every channel 9 nrl program in existence..
Re: Phil Guild must be sacked by Channel 9
Which begs the question, where is this all going? Is rugby league dead, and/or is the clock ticking on the life of it?
