I think I will always remember this one a bit more fondly - firstly because I was there, but also because of how the season panned out.
That being said, the Dragons game was 80 minutes of extremely high quality football from both sides. I don't think I've ever seen a game with that much...
I re-watched this a week or two ago, thinking it would make me happy because it was such a fantastic performance. Turns out it just made me depressed because I had the same thoughts as you. Definitely hanging onto it though. A truly amazing game.
Are these awards based solely on international rep matches? If so, why they would select them with 3/4 of the four nations tournament still to be played is beyond me.
Jeez you would be hard pressed to find a guy with a more successful football career than Brad Thorn. Happy for him though, a ridiculously likeable guy.
A question for genuine union fans:
What are your thoughts on the skill level in both games?
In my opinion, league has it all over union in 3 out of 4 basic skills - passing, running and tackling - while union obviously wins the kicking war. But then, I'm biased and I know it, and I also don't...
Am I the only one who doesn't like this guy? He seems to get rave reviews from all corners of the media.
I've seen him on the footy show a couple of times and he just strikes me as someone who finds out what popular opinion is and then says it very loudly. Basically a politician masquerading as...
Carney has massive issues. Genuine, addiction issues. All this contract does is say "yes you can keep stuffing up and you will always get another chance handed to you on a silver platter". Where's the incentive to give up when people/clubs are going to keep enabling his problem?
I honestly...
I'm sure the Bulldogs weren't saints, but to suggest that they were at all responsible for the way SBW walked out is kinda ridiculous. Not the fact that he did walk out, but the WAY he walked out. There is no excuse for that and, as others have said, SBW hasn't even come up with one himself...
I'll be very interested to see how Manly turn out next year, considering their premiership and all the Hasler drama. A lot of teams find it hard to back up but the fact that their coach (a club legend, no less) is leaving in 2013 adds a whole other dimension to the situation.
My prediction is...
I'm always surprised when this sort of thing is considered newsworthy (though I shouldn't be, it is the Daily Tele after all). I would assume that 90% of players off contract would "test the open market", if only to ensure that they get what they're worth from the club they really want to stay...
Wow you'd think they might give their fans a little more time to celebrate a premiership. Turns out even Manly hate Manly.
(can someone please tell me who is the guy who plays for Manly with the long, lanky, gross hair? - nevermind, found it)
It's not a big deal, no-one is "in trouble". It was a simple request to move away from a topic that has been done a thousand times over and is now being discussed for the thousand and first time in a thread that is not remotely related. I honestly thought most people would be grateful.
Fair...
Talking about the Storm salary cap debacle is a natural flow of discussion? I have no issue with comments on past refereeing in comparison with this game, but I'll be damned if I'm going to read another circular debate between AP and the world on whether the storm deserved their punishment or not.
