I can see them rotating between ISC and the bench. It will give them both an opportunity wvery now and then to play longer minutes to keep match fitness. And giving Nickorima a run in ISC will give him a chance to potentially gain more skills in other positions like the halves, or give him a run...
NZ should give Martin a crack next week. Leuluai can go to the bench. I have always liked him as a hooker plus he hits really well in defence.
Beale can come in for SKD, no explanation needed here really...
JWH has been rubbish. Drop him and bring in Beastwood. He always plays well for...
I think Kahu will get first chance at left centre with Mead on the right wing. Kahu moving to the centres has been a long time coming, plus playing inside Oates will make a leathal combination. It pains me that Oppa can't crack the side but i really like him and he has a great work ethic and...
So you are saying taking one of our two only experienced front rowers out of the rotation is going to help with the point i was making of ensuring we don't have too many inexperienced forwards on the field at once? Why are some people really struggling to see why McGuire/Blair moving to lock...
If we aren't recruiting any forwards our rotation really needs to be perfect. For example we can't have our 2 young bench props on the field at the same time for long periods, particularly if we have another young player at lock. McGuire being able to play long minutes helps though
We have far more experienced players taking up the bulk of the game time with Glenn at lock. With McGuire or Blair at lock we put so much pressure on TPJ, Offa and Ese to hold up the rest of our front row rotation. They just aren't ready for that yet and we will have Glenn sitting on the bench...
I disagree. I think our front row will be too inexperienced if we take Blair or McGuire out of it. Even if we pick up someone like Napa.
I'm one of the people who think Glenn might be our best option at lock. Thaiday and Gillett finished the year strongly on the fringe. Why change something...
To the guys complaining about picking Maloney and not looking to the future, perhaps they have picked Moylan as the young half? He did play 5/8 in the last origin and is supposed to be destines for the halves. And Maloney deserves a call up and I would be most confident with Maloney in the...
This pretty much covers my thoughts... some really weird selection by Mal, not what I was expecting at all...
Very surprised there is no McGuire. Then Boyd is picked. No offense to Boyd, he has been good this year but McGuire is incumbant and definitely deserved to atleast be in the squad...
Glenn would definitely do a good job for NZ. But Proctor, Harris, Mannering and Taumalolo are all walk ins. Eastwood is always there, then there is Tapau, Brown, Mau etc. Glenn would have had his work cut out for himself.
Probably wouldn't have made it, NZ have a high quality back row. Pretty disappointed for him that he won't get a full off season. I was hoping he would be out #13 next year which would mean bulking up or atleast maintaining his current size (he looks the biggest ive seen him) which will be hard...
Sounds like James wants a big contract and surely the captaincy is great incentive to stay at the titans. However playing under Wayne could also be incentive tk take his fame to thr nrxt level. I would take him for the right price if we can't get anyone else but I would much rather the titans...
Alot of people are writing him off because he didn't play the second half of the season. But I agree with you. He has all the right infredients and is still a young prop, they take time. At one stage he was rated higher than wallace, and look how far Wallace has come in the last 12 months! He...
Just on the talk of signing a prop. Someone earlier mentioned Matulino. I just read on another forum he could be on the outer at the warriors. If true he would be worth a look. At his best he was one of the form front rowers in the comp, not sure why he has dropped off so much this year. Bennett...
Taumalolo had a slow and up and down introduction to first grade before he cemented his spot don't forget.
There are players ahead of him at current for the #13 in my opinion. But you never know...
I'm really looking forward to seeing how he goes next year. I think bench front rower is...
It's pretty clear cut what our priorities are which is a good thing. Everyone is on the same page, hopefully the club adresses some of the issues.
1. Front row. Sign 1 or 2 big boppers to replace Wallace and Parker if we can afford it. Napa and Vaughn keep getting thrown around, one of them...
