The touchie was just covering his own ass because he missed a blatant forward pass right infront of him.
There is no way of knowing that McKinnon intentionally spat at the touchie, the touchie and the judiciary are just assuming it was intentional only because he spat in the touchies general...
Actually that's what the rule used to be in the 70's and 80's.
The rule was, when a tackled player thought he couldn't make anymore metres in a tackle,or he felt as if he has lost all momentum in driving forward and thinks he could get driven backwards or out into touch, he could call out...
Yup, that's not such a bad idea.
The only problem I have with this is, having a player faking an injury and says he can't take the conversion.
What I would suggest is the captain of the opposition gets to choose the player to take the conversion, if an injury occurs.
Non tackling markers? - this will only make for more dummy half running.
No kicking? - touch footy
If I wanted to watch a game like this, I would be going to watch touch footy every weekend.
I agree.
I enjoyed the game more under the 5 metre rule, I loved those deep backline set plays
I was talking to my mates about the 5 metre rule being re-introduced again, they all agreed.
Basically we agreed that we will see the classic backline set plays again, the 5/8 will have more to do...
Bird has received a court summons for another incident earlier this year.

"Bird has also been issued a court attendance notice for common assault relating to an alleged incident involving a woman at a nightclub on Cronulla Street in Cronulla on January...
I just think that you gotta keep on building pressure, repeat sets of six, no easy turnovers in possession.
The Broncos don't have any players with the same height as Folau and Inglis, so cross-field kicks to try and score tries shouldn't be in our game plan against the Storm, instead we need...
The backline I wouldn't mind seeing
1. Kemp
2. Yow Yeh ( he is playing well for the under 20's, he has the height and build to match it with Morris)
3. Boyd ( we need Boyds excellent reading in defence for us to have any chance)
4. Moon
5. Manihera
But no doubt Bennett will probably go with...
I'll be there.
I am going with my best mate, who is a Newcastle fan argh
I was gonna go to the game against the Dragons, but both of my parents has some serious health issues I need to help them with.
It will be interesting.
Seymour just used abusive backchat to the ref and got marched 10.
As I said in another thread, interesting times ahead. if the judiciary is consistent there should be a suspension for abuse each week
That was the most frustrating game I have watched for awhile.
Where is the consistency in rulings regarding when a player is held, The Broncos should've received a penalty for when Kemp was driven back into goal, it has been a penalty all year, even Qld were penalised in the Origin this year...

"SONNY Bill Williams' rugby union career got off to an atrocious start when the former Bulldogs star was sinbinned on debut for French club Toulon.
Williams, who ignored a court order by playing, was sent from the field for 10 minutes...

Brisbane representative forward Sam Thaiday has been dropped for Saturday's NRL clash with the New Zealand Warriors for disciplinary reasons.

Geezus christ, just when the Broncos were hitting their straps, Hodges gets...
So the precedent has been set by this rediculous suspension.
Everytime a player has been penalised and marched 10 for abusive backchat, that player should be cited aswell as Cameo said.
There should be a suspension nearly every week for abusive backchat from now on. Interesting times ahead...
I agree with you 100%.
Not long ago, when Brisbane played against I think it was Parramatta or maybe a different team.
Some player elbowed a bronco defender I think it was Kemp to the head.
Kemp looked in a pretty bad way , he was laying flat out on the ground concussed which lead to a try...
