Fairly certain he's only signed through to 17 - and hard to see him being extended. That was '15 iirc - is that what you were referring to when you say just? I'd wager Wayne won't stand in his way if he gets an offer that locks up his future IF we sign a prop. Especially as a lot of the names...
Re: Forwards 2017z
For arguments sake if we do land a starting prop here's what I'd go with
8. Moose
9. Macca
10. Signing
11. Blair
12. Thaiday
13. Gillet
14. Niko
15. Oates
16/17. Pangai, Esse, Offa, Fai, etc. gotta be two props.
Two points worth discussing.
1. I really...
Never liked the grub, but hard to argue he would not be a good addition to our roster - big body who can bend the line. Injury history less than ideal. A Moose/James starting front row combo looks good. Plenty of minutes in both of them as well which will help us bring the young props through...
I like Glenn, great clubman, but I would be neither surprised or disappointed if he left with Kearney considering Gillet and Thaiday's extensions and Oates belonging as an edge forward. I can't see him being extended beyond 17, considering the balance of our team, and I doubt Bennett would stand...
1. Boyd - His organisation is worth mentioning - otherwise everyone else has covered what needs to be said.
2. Mead - Great signing imo. Good pace, can finish.
3. Roberts - Didn't have the type of year we were hoping for. Potential goes without saying. Our perspective is clouded by high...
I think acceleration is almost more important than speed. Especially for a centre. That is what turns the half chances into something. Especially for a centre to then put the wing away.
I think Oates is noticeably slower than last year - perhaps it is just a matter of my expectations being higher this year, while last year they were low.
But I agree I think an edge forward will be his best position. My main concern at this stage, is his shoulders. Seems like 50% of tackles he...
Re: Roberts chances at the judiciary?
How the eff does a stomp to the jatz crackers get off for not enough force, when Roberts didn't even have a back-swing on his kick! Id rather a tap on my back then a kick to the dick any day of the week.
It was my turn to grab the beers when this happened...
Guaranteeing positions doesn't seem like it would be Bennett's style - or at least I hope it wouldn't be. (Unless your name is Darius perhaps...)
Any player who signs with the Broncos should be given one guarantee - and that's that they can win any spot on the field if they work hard enough and...
Off topic - but I must admit I've had a bit of a soft spot develop for Ricky since he finished up for NSW. I reckon you gotta admire him - he sticks to his guns despite all the shit that gets said about him.
Good on the bloke for turning the raiders around this season, and proving a lot of...
Re: David Mead
Never heard this - gave me a giggle....
For me 100% yes. All signings depend on price of course, but I rate meady. Local lad, plenty of toe. Not a bad injury history. Go for gold as far as I am concerned.
He's got to be on the kind of coin where we don't mind him playing park...
I agree with BP and Wolfie - I'm yet to be convinced by him either. Not complaining we have signed him for a further two years.
But where does everyone think his best position is? For me it's either 5/8 or a super-sub off the bench...
I think he is at at his best when our middle defense is...
Exactly! Well half of em anyway.... And the other half have more speed than Oxford Street getting out the back door whenever the bacon shows up.
Pin-dick bouncer gets to feel like a big man for wailing on a footy player who is three sheets to the wind... Plenty of good blokes working the door...
If I had a spare $10 and decided to buy the Knights and I had to completely fill the roster 1-25, Graham would without doubt be the first forward I picked.
I am a massive fan of him as a leader and as a prop.... He's exactly what we need in the forwards.
