Agree, i realise you were talking about that, but i think some of the lack of go forward stems from their fatigue from a round 1 game and having to do so much defence. First 20 minutes it was like 16 sets to 5 or something in Melb favour. Thats tough mate.
All the commentators are talking about our halves but at this stage I am far more concerned about our forwards. When you consider the investment we have in this supposedly amazing forward pack, they way the Storm forwards destroyed them with relative ease is very concerning.
This is simply not...
IMO his position must take the ball carrier and be quick enough to hold the inside also. He has to make a decision yes, sometimes it can be the wrong one, but it looked like he got confused and therefore the gap got even bigger.
Fifita also got bamboozled in defence for that last try. Or was it laziness, although he was virtually fresh, so should not have been that. This is why he is still learning and probably coming off bench. Su'a impressed me in defence and i think he wouldn't be a bad 13 until TPJ starts. I dont...
I agree here. Kaufusi should not have been able to keep running at Milf the way he did. Glenn should have seen him targeting Milf and shut that down. Gillette and Sua both put good shots on asofa-solomona heading for Kodi early on in the game and he really didn't try it again and was...
Su’a has only been running for about a month on that ankle. Probably why Fifita was preferred to start in trials and gain experience. Especially with a full preseason. But I think JS is the starting option with Gillette at 13
Disagree. How can the forwards lay a platform with the terrible and readable ball they are getting. Melbourne were so in the forwards faves and never in fear of a half darting or being creative with the ball. Coupled with the terrible last play kicking options the forwards had to work...
F*ck yeah. I’m impressed. Speed of the game for r1 is at its best. We’ve defended madly. Lodge the best for me. Boys has been good. Gillette and Su’a beasts in defence. Su’a a little unlucky with drop ball but I like it so far. Isaako good to. Staggs is one of the best prospects imo.
Its kick off 7.55 here in Melbourne so i dare say channel 9 is showing it slightly delayed if it says coverage starts at 7pm (being 8pm Melbourne time).
This is a very near top side. Will be a cracker to see them all out there again. I think the forward rotation is a tough one for this year. We have such great depth. I agree Fafita and Su'a are the future second rowers, I think Su'a once fully fit and the ankle looks like it will hold up...
This trial will give us a real indication. I can't wait to see Gillo on the field again. I watched the trial game, and whilst Flegler had a few good runs, I'm a bit confused at all the hype around him yet. I hope he does go well, but i don't think we need to push him yet. Compared to the off...
I saw Su'a out shopping two weeks ago and he looked pretty fit especially for someone who isnt training fully because of injury.
Souths had guaranteed him a starting role there at 2nd row so one would think that is where Seibs wants to coach him. IMO Fifita's attack is a little more powerful...
Team we should play next year
1. Boyd
2. Oates
3. Roberts
4. Kahu or bird depending on who is in better form
5. Isaako
6. Milford
7. Nikorima/O'sullivan depending who is in better form
8. Lodge
9. Macca
10. McGuire
11. Gillett
12. Su'a
13. Offa
14.Glenn/Nikorima – im struggling with this one...
yeah while Sua was playing school footy. Credit where it is due mate. I said Gillett esk, not better. He is a kid and his ceiling is huge if he is producing this now. Same with TPJ. I’m sorry but last few years Gillet has plateaued. And I’m a big fan too
