I figured it out.
Apparently the players vote 3-2-1 on their opponents after every match. Which basically means if you a good player in a crap team that gets flogged every week there's still a good chance you will poll highly...sounds fair!
For all the talk about the Players Association awards being more prestigious than the Dally M's (which normally I wuold agree with whole-heartedly) can someone explain to me how Uate won last night? I had him in my fantasy team this year so I watched more than a few Newcastle games and he...
I remember watching the first ever game of Toyota Cup where he was playing 5/8 and thinking "man, this kid is a gun!" If I'm not mistaken he created a lot that day including a chip and chase try for himself.
He hasn't really shown that in first grade (or maybe he hasn't be able to show it...
While I'm on the subject of Manly bogans...can someone please explain the sign that some moron always has at a game that says "Push It Up Manly!"....what the hell does that even mean???
But the thing is that most of the Manly fans that go to Brooky are complete and utter bogans that don't fit that stereotype therefore should be able to find the time to travel to the city to watch their alleged beloved team!
It's seriously like Mt Druitt by the sea there...
There's seriously nothing short of an almost complete roster overhaul that will help the Sharks at this point. I can see from their perspective why they would sign Carney but he's hardly the player that will attract others to join him
Manly fans are the biggest fair-weather fans in the comp. That's been the case ever since they came into the league. I'd be surprised if half of them even knew where Moore Park was let alone felt like making the effort to get there.
Honestly Beads, to compare the careers of Hughes and Khawaja to teh Waugh brothers is a stretch even for you! And last time I watched Hughes I don't see the selectors standing alongside him advising him on his woeful shot selection...
Exactly - thus proving my point that if one of the all-time greats clearly wasn't ready for number 3 why would we rush another rookie into the hardest spot to bat in?
Really?

The next test Australia played...

But that's the thing...the Waugh brothers were smashing the door down to get a decent run - who's doing that at the moment? The gap in class between Ponting's ability even now and any potential replacement is clearly apparent to me.
Border went down the order while he was captain. Now that Ponting has been relieved of the captaincy I would expect to see an improvement in his batting therefore there's no need for him to move anywhere. Besides, wasn't Border normally the number 4 or 5 anyway?
Perhaps not, however his standing in the game and in this side is more than enough to let him choose when it's time for him to call it quits - him taking up the number 3 spot doesn't hurt us at all at the moment as there's no obvious replacement who would do better than him.
And exactly how is throwing someone who's not ready for the number 3 spot going to achieve that? Punter himself had to wait until Boonie called it a day to be the number 3 - it won't hurt for Khawaja or whoever to bide their time at 6 also for a while
Well if he had finished second without getting suspended that will fair dinkum do me. I'm convinced that 18 points would be an absolute maximum that he should have scored. It can't be right.
