Aren't we paying him only $200k under our salary cap? Considering the way he's played this year, he's been an absolute bargain. He's some such a long way since that horror show against Cronulla (1 run, 8 metres gained).
Their combination didn't really gel until halfway through this year. It's only now that we're starting to reap the benefits of their combination.
Imagine what they'll be like with several years experience together.
Re: Grand Final - Broncos vs Cowboys
Despite the dreadful 2012-2014 seasons, I still truly believed that the Broncos could be top 4 contenders with small changes to the squad.
The main changes since then have been acquiring a first-class coach and a first-class five-eighth, which we obviously...
Re: Grand Final - Broncos vs Cowboys
Even if McGuire was just fit enough, he hasn't played since Round 16. This team has already had to adjust to his absence, so him coming into the team underdone after about 14 weeks would only be a distraction.
We've already shown in this finals series that...
Re: Grand Final - Broncos vs Cowboys
Is he still the Prime Minister? Or have they changed again?
KRudd was always the worst Broncos supporter. Can't forget the time when Queensland won the series and he tweeted "Go the Broncos!" When people corrected him, he said he was jetlagged after...
Re: Grand Final - Broncos vs Cowboys
For the record, the heritage jersey is just as lucky as the home jersey, i.e. we have lost a game in each of them.
We lost to Souths in Round 1 wearing the home jersey and lost to the Cowboys in Round 10 wearing the heritage jersey.
The other two losses at...
Re: Grand Final - Broncos vs Cowboys
I thought that the week off would have been cancelled out by a battering from the Roosters pack, but we started to run over the top of them early in the second half.
As for the Cowboys, they would have been very tired after the loss to Brisbane, but were...
The worst anti-Bennett comments IMO were those criticising the club for sacking Griffin and hiring Bennett after we were thrashed by the Cowboys in the finals last year. They were saying things along the lines of "give him a fair go, 8th is a great result."
This fine club's 6 premierships did...
Re: Justin Hodges on report
Probably bullshit like all of his other rumours, but the Lurker is adamant that Hodges will get off:

Re: Justin Hodges on report
Gerard Whateley (AFL expert) and Sterlo both think it's a certainty that Hodges will be charged and then attempt to prove his innocence on Tuesday night, where he will be found not guilty.
Is it likely that the judiciary will deliberately charge him just to show...
Bellamy is an outstanding coach, regardless of the illegal squads he had at his disposal. The problem is that from 2006-2009, the Storm teams became the dominant forces of the NRL because they revolutionised the type of defence which strangled the life out of teams, leaving them so tired that...
Bennett lights fire, Bellamy adds fuel
Has Bennett actually criticised the Storm's style of play? It sounds to me like Bellamy is dirty that he isn't on that panel.
Detracting from the footy for a second, what the hell was going on in the half time show? I saw a silver robot on a segue, a 2 metre tall yeti made of string and cheerleaders going for some 'blast from the past' theme. Did anyone understand it?
The body language of the Broncos players was extremely encouraging. Their huddles were so intensely passionate, especially when Milford scored, that it was obvious how much has changed for this side. They work so hard for each other in defence and attack and know exactly how much this win means...
Re: Broncos - 2016 Speculation/Discussion
Thaiday just confirmed on the Footy Show that he's signed a 3-year extension. Good news, assuming that he plays like he has this year. With Bennett at the helm, motivation shouldn't be an issue.
