Those normally come from a club thinking the payment fits under the rules and Schubert and co. disagreeing. Hardly the systematic rorting we've seen emerge from the Storm today.
And it seems those indescretions were picked up pretty much straight away in the audit at the end of every year. Bit...
Incorrect ... the bets were to WIN those amounts, which at the bigs odds the Storm would've been, doesn't take a big bet [icon_wink
The bets will be honoured, and will be paid out at the end of the season (assuming another team doesn't get caught out that is)
a) bets started coming through last night. By this time it would've gone beyond Schubert and his team and been widely known throughout the NRL, News Ltd etc.
b) it was hardly big money being thrown around. My info is the largest bet was around the $250 mark which is far from an earth shattering...
It's simple ... They don't care enough about defence. Systematic of the culture of u20s comp really. They're willing to bust a gut in attack and do all the flashy stuff that gets them on the news highlights, but not the nitty gritty things in defence that wins footy matches
Agreed. Steve Mascord is suggesting the move is a done deal.
Can understand Smith wanting to be back playing at NRL level asap, but if I was in his situation the Sharks couldn't pay me enough to go there. They're a shocking team
