Re: Sack Griffin? How about sack Thaiday
Agree 100%, it's entirely his fault that he's played out of position and saying he should have the same impact at prop as he does in the back row is completely reasonable.
You guys seem to need a bit of cheering up..so here's some comedy gold from Hook.
"They scrambled well, we just never got enough pressure to crack em open"
"We scrambled great at times as well"
"It is what it is"
Noticed him for the first time 20 mins in..
Then saw him repeatedly dummy and run straight into defenders and kick out on the full, and realised it was business as usual.
He showed promise in his first couple of years, I think many thought he'd be the next Cam Smith and eventually play Origin especially when he would pop out of dummy half and kick a 40/20. He's a half that was moved to hooker and his kicking game should have been an asset, instead all we see...
I guess it all depends on when/if Lama Tasi can make the starting 17..If he does we'll have a full back row with one on the bench..if he doesn't and we keep Thaiday at prop, then we may have room.
Hodges and Yow Yeh centre pairing would be nice, too many backrowers so I'd say Reed would be dropped until Hodges retires or fills in when either are injured/suspended (so probably play 10 games a year anyway).
Seems he hasn't lost his defense either.
True, Hunt started at 17, let's just throw him in as soon as his shoulder heals, he'll be great. Age is not the only factor. Taylor's played, what, 10 games of NYC and is now out for the season. Then we have the coaches, Lockyer had Bennett, Foran had Hasler..Taylor has Griffin.
11 Games (not...
He came off the bench as an 18 year old..with Griffin I think if we do the same for Taylor, he'll just turn him into a back-up hooker as he did with Hunt.
I think 2 more years of mediocrity are unnavoidable..this could be greatly lessened by a successful return of Yow Yeh next year, along with...
I'm assuming/hoping:
2013(18) - recovering from injury
2014(19) - Holden Cup
2015(20) - QCup
2016(21) - Broncos
I really hope they don't rush him in for 2015, as much as we'll need a half that year with Prince/Wallace off contract end of 2014, we really can't afford to ruin a young half...
Re: Rumour - Peter Wallace returning to the Panthers?
The philosophy doesn't translate that well to NRL, stats tell a lot more about a player in baseball than they do in league..look at what they've been saying about Corey Norman, his stats are right up there, I think a commentator/reporter...
