I will be all over that price if that is true, that is an absurd price considering how strong Melbourne have been in their two finals matches. Completely controlled the entire 160 minutes they have played.
Exactly Vertigo. The Dogs best games are against sides that let them shift it back and forth and hang off them, they won't get that luxury against the Storm who will hurry them in attack and defence and make them start sets from 5-10m out all night. I can see Melbourne winning 12+
Melbourne will win and win well. There form in their two finals matches has been huge, whereas the Dogs beat a Rabbits side that still looks like they have stage fright and also lost their only organiser in Reynolds. I just see too much big game experience and too much quality across the park...
They did the same thing to the Rabbitohs two weeks ago and made them look almost as bad. I am telling you Melbourne were far more efficient than "other sides" no one has made Manly look crap in a long time.
Re: Finals Week 3 Discussion
It was hit out so it wasn't intentional. I am not going to get in a rules argument with you but I am not convinced there was no seperation at "grounding" regardless as you say the rules are deadset retarded if by your interpretation of them that is a try.
No they didn't but many of the errors both with and without the ball were Melbourne applying pressure. Plus a heap of their errors were in the period 60+ minutes when they were gone and were going for short drop outs and throwing stupid catch-up passes.
Manly would have beaten plenty of sides tonight. I don't think people take the pressure an opponent is supplying enough into account when errors are being made sometimes. Melbourne were relentless in attack and defence. They caused tonnes of errors in attack and defence by being so methodical...
Fensom was their Mal Meninga Medal winner two years running. He was just as good last year and he will be just as good next year, probably the most consistent player in the NRL.
Slo-Mo showed very clear seperation. Foran hit the ball rather than raked it, no way that was a try however Matai was well offside and it should have been aa Storm penalty.
Melbourne were just so bloody good tonight. Just like against the Rabbits they smothered Manly and forced errors through relentless pressure. I would be incredibly surprised if either the Dogs or Rabbits with so much inexperience at this level could handle a side that is so clinical at this time...
I agree. I am a Bombers fan in AFL (as the Brisbane team when I started was the Bears and they both sucked and they played at the Gold Coast) and regardless of them being there I still find it extremely exciting. This years AFL is very close in terms of the quality from 1st to about 6th.
I am with Coxy, I have watched every match from both the NRL and AFL finals and the AFL has been the better spectacle overall especially when you include the influence of officials on the results. I will watch both but I am far more interested in the AFL due to both the Broncos being out but...
Re: 12/13 Football Thread
You're spot on Scotty.
Ironic how he is Manly Boss, the club that Ben Kennedy played for when he was one of the first people to blatantly dive in league and not only that he did it in a SOO. Cat.
Great signing Heskey it wasn't that long ago he was good enough...
Haha! When I saw this thread had been updated I knew someone would have suggested the refs!!
No doubt the biggest flops have been the refs although it is easy to say we expected them to suck yet again though.
If you are short and you lift the ball and place it in the in goal with a player on you it is a double movement unless you have clear momentum (which he didn't). Plus he loses control when he grounds short. Plus it isn't clear he gets it down as Graham has a hand under it which eventually pulls...
