Halves weren't really the issue tonight. Penalties and errors meant no momentum. All round lack of urgency. If we are on our game, the team has shown we have tries in us against good teams
Re: It's time to go...
I still put most of our 2012 issues down to an uninspired forward pack and a fullback who wasn't a fullback.
There has been a massive difference this year just in the forwards aiming up and a ball playing fullback. Our halves took all the heat last year and I think...
Happy about a lot of that performance. Kept Thurston well under control. Big from Parker and Hannant tonight. Also happy with Gillette .
I thought Wallace had the game tonight that earns him a lot of respect. Plenty of heart, great kicking, great kick chases, great defence and very vocal in...
Re: It's time to go...
You've strung up and beaten Wallace week in, week out over far, far less. Wallace has been all over him this year and you are absolutely blind to it.
I think the thing was that Wallace was there to develop a young player alongside. Norman was that young player. Norman fucking stank up the joint in the 5/8 role. Then they brought Prince in instead of trying another young player, namely, Hunt.
If I'm not mistaken, hasn't Kahu been pegged for...
You've got blinders on when it comes to Wallace though mate. He has been all over Prince this year. Not excellent but much better than Prince. Still, happy to seem him push to hooker.
So many of our lackluster options came from awful dummy half passes last night from macca. The ball thaiday...
No surprise he is breaking the line, he is running at the outside a 5/8 instead of directly into a prop, a lock and a second rower like he is now. For ***** sake Hook, let him do that again. He isn't a prop.
If they're gonna stick with Macca starting hooker, I'd like to see Wallace to push into hooker when Macca comes off and Hunt going into the halves. They seem to be pushing Wallace there more often in the reshuffle this year. We'd at least be able to see Hunt consistently in the halves. Mind you...
Last week we had Hoffman to push into the centers and a bevy of wingers able to slot in. They went for Stagg. Mystified as to how they think we were going to score with Stagg and Reed in the centers.
If Hodges doesn't play and they put Stagg in the centers, I'm done with Hook. Stop playing people out of position. If a center is out, put a center there. If attack is our problem and our attacking weapon is out, don't put a defensive 2nd rower there. FFS that drives me crazy.
If we're gonna persist with the bench hooker/utility, I'd like to start seeing Hunt coming into halfback and Wallace going to hooker when McCullough goes off. It looks like they have been pushing Wallace into 9 when do the shuffle.
I need to see more of Hunt in the 7. He does things I like but...
Re: Sack Griffin
Not much longer if it was. Point was, in the first 2 games, it looked like some dynamic shuffling was going on to keep the defence guessing. Soon as Hodges was injured they went back to 80 minutes of very basic attack with 2 defensive centres and a fullback scared to run hard...
