St. George is in prime position to get Sam Walker and offer the Walker brothers head/assistant coaching positions. They'll part ways with Griff and Hunt. Just need Roosters blessing and it can happen before trade deadline this season.
This is a big loss for the Broncos, Ikin came in and money-balled the team roster. He sowed the seeds, the tree has blossomed with fruits this season only for Kevvie to take credit for the team's success. Hope he comes back one day when the circumstances are a better fit.
This hasn't been mentioned so I'll put it out there. Jock Madden is ineffective with his goal line defence. Graham was having a field day against Broncs left side defence, watch the highlight replay and focus on Madden's lack of defence. Madden reminds me of Croft and Turpin with their goal life...
- Broncs went for the miracle play too many times early on in the tackle count
- Madden is out of his depth at this grade, riddled with errors.
- Broncs didn't capitalise with one man down against the opposition, Souths capitalised when Herbie was sin binned.
- I think Paix got hooked for having...
This game is a good test to my theory that you don't need Payne Haas to win games, thus paying Haas over $1m per season is not good value. Although losing Mam is not ideal we still have Reynolds to hold the fort. Can't wait for this match to start.
Billy stifles Broncos attack.... I sound like a broken record by now.
Palasia is there just to make up the numbers.
Walsh is the game changing bargain buy of the decade!
Teams that have done some soul searching after getting thrashed and humiliated the previous week tend to bounce back and win next week. Broncos just wasn't ready for a raging Raiders outfit. That's what happens when you rest on your laurels, good wake-up call.
Not really, if the player constantly has high missed tackles and ineffective tackle count it doesn't matter which position you're playing at you're still a mediocre defender. Numbers don't lie.
Yeah that's the one, faulty memory. In saying that, Cobbo's defensive stats overall has improved this season so far. Small sample size to draw a conclusion but let's see if he can maintain it.
Yeah Cobbo's weakness is his defence. That's not just my opinion but based on last season's defensive stats on nrl.com, he was always in the bottom echelon of Broncos players for tackle efficiency and missed tackles.
Last game he didn't mark up on defence and let a Tigers wing walk in for a try...
Interested to see Tyson Smoothy be given a chance at hooker. If he can handle it at NRL level he can make every other player better with his creativity, passing and kicking game. Runs like a tortoise but likes to run the ball in both hands making opponents second guess themselves. I reckon he's...
I think the state of the Brisbane turf is handicapping Reece Walsh. The scary thing is if you put him on a good surface you'll see him run faster and change direction like Benji.
Props goes to the master coach Bennett who built a team from scratch with mostly 2nd tier players that came within a whisker of winning tonight's game. On top of that he's missing key players (Katoa, Kafusi) and a few injured players during the game (O'Sullivan, Niu, Nikorima). Monumental...
