Just because they get more games doesn't mean they dominate RL. The 3 highest rating football programs are RL matches.
They can show as many games on 7 mate or wherever they like, doesn't mean anyone's watching, especially in NSW and Qld. Pretty sure figures back that up too.
Someone on LU said succinctly, this is the last of the old-world deals. 5 more years people. 5 years of consolidation at all levels from pro to grass roots.
In 5 years RL in this country writes its own contract.
1 live FTA game.
I guess it means the fans are just going to have to go to games. Oh wait they're not THAT annoyed, I bet.
Either that or get Foxtel, I get lots of live games.
Either that or illegally stream it.
This deal will help shore up the struggling clubs, improve players' salaries and help us raid RU and Superleague players. It will hopefully give the Commission more funds for grassroots footy and the international scene.
I subscribe to Fox so the lack of FTA live games doesn't worry me too...
The only proof Simkins needed (apart from actually seeing the ****ing thing being dropped) was the look on Waqa's face as he stood up to face his team. Then, again, after it was awarded.
Defense also seemed to fail at crucial times, eg Quinn's (:loool:) unforgivable break from inside his 10 with 5000 Broncos around him. Put them on the attack when we should have been pressuring them instead.
We were deadset running uphill for most of the second half and I can't work out why...
IMO Wallace should either be rested completely or should be the halfback. Benching him doesn't achieve anything I feel.
Glad that Parker is back but I really hope his body is up to it.
This is a game we can win but it should be remembered that for Melbourne's Big 3, Lang Park is almost a home...
Norman was already out when he took it. If he'd jumped from the field of play and not touched the ground before touching the ball it would've been a drop out.
Yeah he's a tough competitor but I thought the whinge was that we don't have creativity/kicking game/pace in the halves. Don't think Burns solves any of those problems.
Isn't that sort of like the biting thing?
"Sir, sir he ****in bit me, the mongrel dog ****in' bit me sir, see this?!"
"Are you making a formal complaint?"
*mumbles and walks away*
If the NRL expects to get a fat payday for the TV rights, one thing they're probably going to have to do is stretch the telecast out.
Instant video review for every crucial call, gogogogo. :scared:
Good points but when one ref is calling to the other that Reed was pushed and he still goes ahead and blows it up... well it's no wonder NO ONE applauds the refs week to week.
And given your example here, the penalty could have been reversed for interference with the marker. Unless I'm...
