I don’t get the love for McSweeney, especially at T20 level. Only 2 good innings in his career. Serviceable, yes, but match winning come finals time, I’m not so sure.

That no-ball from Johnson could be very costly!

Unfortunately those days are over. We could easily go back to that model, but it won’t make cricket any money. These were the days where Australia chased down 212 off the last ball in a ODI and they still sold out the SCG. That won’t happen now. Like it or not, the BBL makes money and it is...

    CRICKET Australia v West Indies

Labuschagne was selected for Australia with a FC average of mid-low 30s. Domestic averages usually indicate ability, but occasionally there is an odd one out.

He should be in the conversation for international honours for the shorter formats, especially given he is more than handy with the bat and is a great fielder also.

Final was Feb 4 last year, this year Jan 24. Not sure you can condense it down any further to have finals mid Jan. unless they give in to IPL money which will allow the best players to play, unfortunately there’s not many other solutions.

That’s a massive call given there isn’t much between them. And Renshaw has played crucial innings that have kept us undefeated also.

I don't think Kuhnemann is going to miss out, unfortunately for McSweeney I don't think he makes the side tonight. Given Renshaw has just been selected in the test squad, they will likely go with him as it will most likely be his last game, unless he is released from the squad to play. Also...

    CRICKET Australia v West Indies

Unlikely that we will lose this series, particularly if we go with a full strength bowling unit, but will be interesting to see what the selectors do if Smith & Green both fail in their positions and we then have to go to New Zealand, were batting conditions, especially early can be a bit tricky.

He won’t be dropped, but after his whirlwind start Josh Brown has effectively become Bryant 2.0. Has been very disappointing this season and gets out just at the wrong time, just like Bryant used to do. Does anyone know if Khawaja and Labuschagne are available for Wednesday’s game? It is a...

It will make it interesting for the draft next year. I reckon Walter will be on the radar of several clubs. We may have to give him up if we want to keep Munro and/or Billings. I guess it will depend on what tier he is valued at.

    CRICKET Who replaces Warner?

He's also improved his all-round batting ability since he last had a proper go at test cricket, especially in the T20 format, where he is now one of the more consistent performers in that format.

    CRICKET Who replaces Warner?

How is being dropped after 2 tests in the 2019 Ashes not relevant? Especially given your point for his inclusion was: "4. He has a point to prove and wasn't dropped due to ability/form"

    CRICKET Who replaces Warner?

Bancroft has been dropped on ability/form. He was dropped after the 2nd test of the 2019 Ashes. What was also overlooked during the 'Sandpaper Gate' scandal was that Bancroft's form at the time wasn't that great either. He's not the standout option a lot of people think he is.

    CRICKET Australia v Pakistan Series

I can see where you're coming from, but the minute we start handing out baggy greens for 'experience's sake' then we are just as responsible for the demise of test cricket as South Africa. Baggy Greens should be earnt, not just handed out. It is actually up to the incumbents to make wise...
