You know what just struck me. This could be the end of Alf being part of the coaching staff also. That would be incredibly sad.
Hopefully he can work with Madge and also Madge see's the value in keeping him around.
I was thinking about this yesterday. Kevs first year was similar to this. Messaging all over the place, wobbly press interaction, death riding Hass (Carrigan), terrible bench rotation and player selection. The ship steadied once Ikin came in, recruitment and retention improved but Kev didn't get...
Sorry for my weird double post BHQ. Was trying to reply on my phone while attempting to rock my 18 month old, who woke up bellowing. Should know I can't do two things at once haha
I get it, we can't like the same type of people I guess. I have actually liked him everytime I have heard him on podcasts/radio ect. Seems to have a good grasp on the game.
I agree there are risks with this one but I think they are worth taking. I would have gone Flanno who you also from...
Thanks for the answer. I get it, we all don't like the same people. Honestly haven't seen an interview I dislike him from.
Win win. We can get back on the road to a prem and QLD will have the shield for the next three years.
Yelling has never been intimidating. The yelling from Bellyache is about his passion and desire to win at all costs. So you respect it and him for his passion and drive to be the best. I doubt any of these coaches go in there thinking they are going to scare a bunch of muscled up athletes haha.
@Wolfie can you elaborate why mate? I agree with you on a lot of things but this one is a struggle for me to understand. Out of all the choices that are legitimate, how is this the one you can't fathom?
If that article is correct it sounds like when they say Kev fired himself, that in a way they are actually telling the truth. Could you imagine just telling somebody that their communication ect is no good and then hearing them screaming at their staff for not being loyal. That other radio...
I think this is a protect Kev type response, it's Reynolds job to stick behind the coach and show unity in the media. He probably loves Kev for more reasons than football. Something like this destroys those personal relationships, so you say to the media "I am gutted and had no idea" to salvage...
Something was off, but I do recall I was really behind him early this year. He was good post game early and seemed to be making some right calls. But then it started to spiral and it became obvious that Kev couldn't stay on track and reverted back to his worst traits. He really burnt Patty to...
Yeah it's definitely a risk of occurring here. My personal hope is Madge has learnt a thing or two about his shortcoming in the past. Hopefully if he does become the coach that this is exactly what we get, a new improved Madge capable of something special. If not we could end up in a very bad...
Sorry not sure what you are referring to their mate. I didn't say anything about cancelling anything. I said they need to earn the right to be treated as kings. Big difference, maybe lay off the cans.
One more personal point. I was behind Kev all the way. But overtime he lost me. I could completely understand players belief in him fading too for the same reasons mine did. I obviously know nothing about the inside of the club but it was plainly obvious that Patty and Adam had lost something in...
He also made the comment "not so much the last four years" he seemed to be saying thank you to everyone in the past and to his coaching staff but that's about it.
Kev for all the good about him has some bad traits like all of us. But the problems he has makes for a bad coach. He isn't a good...
Our players will do exactly what they did with Kev to Arthur or Holbrook. We have done the buddy coach and it's time for a change. Plus I can't deal with another bloke that will have his son replacing Reynolds.
Surprised I actually agree with Parker here. All the other old boys are too connected to Kev even if they say they aren't biased they are. That's fine also, respect Webcke a lot but he isn't being as honest with himself as he thinks.
The prima donna aspect is exactly why we can't have our next coach be anything like Kev. I don't think we can ever win a comp while we have our current mentality. If we loose a few players along the way I think it will be the ones unwilling to make the sacrifices to be successful.
Holbrook...
