Part of me still believes that a few on here don't care for his coaching ability, they just want to see his hard nosed 1980's "belt your kid with a leather strap" mentality.
Just on his coaching ability, he hasn't shown too much more than Kevvie when you really weigh it up. Madge got his team...
Not sure what he can say, they were never a chance against Penrith and obviously tonight they got smoked. They're losing a few key players now as well.
I don't know about "NRL Great", he was a very good player, played for QLD and won a premiership, was he one of the greats though? I don't know about that.
I think the fans want to see someone like Madge because they're so frustrated at the decline we had in 2024 but a dose of reality is needed here, in this day and age if a playing group gets flogged they will more than likely turn it up and stop buying in.
He'd need to, he had that good initial...
I must admit seeing as we're not in the finals this season and given how predictable the finals series is looking to be, I have an all time low interest in the NRL currently.
The AFL is undeniably a better product.
Walsh wouldn't take less because he (and the rest of the team) had a bad few months since it was rumoured he was about to re-sign.
No fool would come to the table and sign that. You'd just go to the open market.
Penrith would be licking their chops.
They face a Cronulla team who they flogged earlier in the season meanwhile Roosters and Storm will go hell for leather and it will probably be a close tough game.
12 months ago I would have said Selwyn is worth the trouble but when you consider it's probably him or Kotoni, I can say with conviction Kotoni doesn't turn it up when the going gets tough.
Probably because every team in the NRL practices to defend block plays, something structually has to go wrong from the defensive team for a block play to result in a try. For us, Walsh is the point of difference, he can beat a defender and then attract another, that's what creates the space, you...
Don't get too worked up about it, time is not on the side of the fairweather fan. This off season is the only thing they've got.
By the way, it doesn't matter who the next bloke is, the knives were out in 2022.
I didn't watch the game so I don't know if Addo-Carr would have changed the result but seriously, him getting done in the leadup to their first finals appearance in 8 years, how can the playing group forgive him for that?
