I agree with the notion that Perth will probably get it's bid accepted before the Bombers, but the likelihood is that both will come in at the same time as the competition needs an even quota of teams
Re: Official Brisbane Bombers thread
Your claim to "success" is driven on 1. history, something relevant over 10 years ago and 2. an enviable exclusive market that as I've pointed out numerously now is not being sufficiently tapped by 1 side.
You clearly have missed the 2 key points put forth already about
1. the Crushers as proof that solid base can be built when the league administration is behind the club
2. that Brisbane's growth as a market has outstripped the broncos membership and attendance KPIs
What's even funnier is...
On the contrary, the lions were at their peak and the roar went through a similar fairweather period.
The Broncos have proven that they are incapable of swinging that market on their own
Well well well. What a "surprise" to see so many well wishes from bronco diehards.
It's easier to respond generally here, the Crushers although having nothing to do with the Bombers bid, were a massive success in their early days posting crowds well over 25k regularly. It was only superleague...
Re: Official Brisbane Bombers thread
it goes hand in hand, the underperformance of the broncos at the moment and the untapped saturation of the brisbane market opens up the need that people like gyngell have been crying for.
like all startup operations, the goal won't be to conquer rome...
Re: Official Brisbane Bombers thread
only 1 of those achieved in the modern salary era. 2000 still carried hefty super league contracts.
massive underacheivement for a one town team in the capital of rugby league.
the bulk of manly supporters are stoked they made the grand final after being written off all season. it was also a controversial result. if your lot lost the grand final this season, you'd be doing cartwheels, so stop your dribbling
Re: Official Brisbane Bombers thread
successful? lol
you've missed the finals 2/3 seasons now and are hemorrhaging our best local talent by the bucketload thanks to this exact example of complacency resulting from self grandeur
they sure did. also have won a few gfs in recent seasons too.
you said something about recent disappointment with my "2nd team" ?!
can you clarify? lol
Re: Official Brisbane Bombers thread
"best rugby league stadium" in the world apparently. home to one league team that doesn't own the ground. is a joke.
the govt will amend that no problems if the bid is successful
Re: Official Brisbane Bombers thread
suncorp deserves a game a week. if the broncos didn't exist, and it was a clean slate today, that would be a no brainer
think you'll be very disappointed with that hope of yours, the indications are from major influencers (eg nine) that perth and brisbane will be a certainty, more a case of when not if
