I keep seeing similar things being posted, so I'm going to write something that should go without saying... Posts such as... "Is this guy a lock for Round 1?" "Will this guy play first grade?" "Where can you see this player in five years time?" Are questions that even the coaching staff would have a hard time answering, let alone fans of the club who have limited access to the players. Let's level for a second here... The NYC Broncos were featured on TV a total of two times last season, both of those were finals games where the Broncos had well and truly hit the wall weeks back. Everything else is at the game where most fans struggle to tell players apart and treat it more as a social event than as a scouting opportunity. If somebody is able to attend all the home games, they'll be able to say they saw half their season. Or if you're like me, 5 home games. It isn't a ideal way and you can never factor in all the relevant factors that go into whether a player is going to have a long and successful NRL career. The best you can really do is keep note of a player, follow their progress and see if they can handle the step up. The rest is entirely just guess-work, especially at this stage of the season where nobody has even run out for a game yet. I know everybody wants to unearth the next Milford, Tuivasa-Sheck or Holmes but nobody can really provide a concrete team-list this early. Things happen, players get injured, suspended, go to rehab, hump dogs and all sorts of stuff goes down. Patience... Keep track of who is in the first grade squad, the trial teams and the stand-outs. They will tell you what you need to know.
