2017 New Captain

Candidates:

1. Boyd
2. Daylight
3. Thaiday
4. More daylight
5. A little more daylight
6. McCullough
7. Hunt
8. More daylight
9. McGuire
10. GIllett
11. Blair
12. Kahu
13. A lot more daylight
14. Glenn
15. A heck of a lot more daylight

Of course this is only a problem because Scott Minto was so nice that he declined captaincy from retirement and apparently, the NRL doesn't allow it.

Boyd - grown superbly as a leader in the side, no one saw this coming and no one would be upset to see him captain.

McCullough - been in the system since he was 12, playing consistent football for a while now, hard worker, can see him doing a good job.

Blair - The Alpha male of the pack, he would lead by example and I think would command the full respect of the pack. The only issue with him is he sometimes has a day off, maybe the captaincy would stop that?

Those are the only suitable candidates imo

Hunt - too mentally fragile
Thaiday - had his go, plus is too much of a personality. I like my captains to be focused....
McGuire, Glenn, Gillett - none of them scream captaincy material.

The rest of our side are relatively inexperienced or new to the club/first team.

McCullough or Boyd. Boyd does seem like the best candidate but wish there was someone better we could give it to. Someone who loves the club and has been here a long time and doesn't just follow Bennett wherever he goes.

Boyd looks to be the standout at the moment.

However, I'd give it to McCullough, not just because he's my favourite player, but because he is rarely injured (except this year) or suspended & probably has missed the Origin boat, so will most likely be available for all our games & training sessions throughout the season.

He said at the begining of the year that it wasn't for him but in his post match interview following the cowboys elimination final he sounded open to the idea.

Blair has proved he can do a good job as well, even though we lost was because we had barely no one there due to origin
