Things didn't get much better with 30 minutes to go with the scores at 22-8 and David Fauid left the field through injury. With their season on the line, the Broncos forward pack rallied, powering over the advantage line and scoring three quick tries to give the Broncos an unlikely lead. In a tense finish, the Broncos were able to draw a penalty and back-up kicker Kotoni Staggs nailed the match winner cementing the Broncos place in the 2017 Holden Cup Finals series, the sixth in club history.
