Flegler/Oates/Joe O This is the situation as it stands, current roster furthest left, and I have to say, if the talk about Glenn and Gillett comes to fruition, our 2nd row stocks start to look reaaal thin, especially when you consider how suspension/injury prone TPJ can be. I honestly can't see both of them leaving. The club will retain one, and right now it's looking like Gillett. Not sure how I feel about that right at this moment. I assume they're choosing based on his contract which does not bode well for seeing off Boyd and McC. If we can get our hands on someone like Sezer, then suddenly we do seem to be nicely flush with choices in the backline and spine. Perhaps the solution to our problem in the 2nd row is to begin Oates transition? He wants the big dough, it's time to get in the thick of it and earn it, because unlike the wing, there's no hiding in the pack, and he's fucking obsessed with coming up and in anyway despite that costing him a premiership. Farnworth can be told the wing spot is his to lose. I'm also wondering if we're neglecting the 9 a tad at the moment with all the focus on the halfback and fullback. Don't get me wrong, I like Turpin a lot, and I'm quite happy to give him his chance, but as of right now, I can't say I'm all that certain about him. Call it being overly concerned if you like, it probably is, but after dealing with such shit in and around the ruck for so damn long, it's kind of high on my concerns list. Segeyaro is also highly suspect as a starting Hooker so he isn't really an answer. Was Paix the one that was being potentially groomed as a Hooker? The reason I singled out Hodgson is just because he seems like the best "decent but not too pricey" option currently out there. He hasn't got the speed and flair of someone like Cook or the brains and manipulation of Smith, but he certainly gets the job done in the ruck farrrrrrrrrr better than anyone we have currently. Not clear on his contract situation specifically so I'm happy to be pulled up. I'll be upfront, I fucking hate Mitchell. I honestly think he is a sooky little turd at times, which basically makes him another Boyd, just with a bigger body and balls.....However when I sit back and think about it, I'm sure we all thought of Hodges that way once upon a time, and look at his status among the fans nowadays. He wouldn't be cheap, and he may just be the exact personality we need to be rid of, but you can't deny his talent. It's there for all to see. [/QUOTE]
