[QUOTE="Sproj, post: 3166665, member: 8423"] Yeah I’m convinced he should be head coach. Is he the best coach in the world? No. Does he need to be the best coach in the world? No, not if he has the right assistants in place and is not on a ridiculously long or expensive contract like the current rookie. Is he the best available man for the job? Yes because he can bring back the culture and make the team competitive again, that is where it needs to start, forget winking premierships for now unless Cmith comes. Should he be given a multi-year contract? Yes but only 2, now Coach Option. Can he be the king-term coach? No idea but he has two years to show what’s he’s got. What are his benefits? Club legend, understands the Broncos culture, wants the job and has had to totally earn it more than anyone else, has Maroons influence, has friends in the media and with the old boys, is extremely likeable but isn’t afraid to make a tough call, he isn’t named Anthony and/or Seibold. What are his drawbacks? Unproven head coach, didn’t set the world on fire at Catalans or in Origin, is an unknown. Is it a risk? Yes absolutely but then so is every coach appointment not named Bellamy or Robinson. How does he succeed? He gets in the right assistant coaches - guys with experience, he focuses on the finer points and man manages, he focuses on media work, he gets rid of the strength and conditioning team - every one of them, he brings in the Brisbane Lions medical department, he has full control over his selections and signing targets (but not budget), get Cmith!
