Bulldogs Abbey, Holland, Stanley, Chisolm, Kasiano, Garvey, Lane, Williams, Eastwood Another year, another half-arsed Auckland 9s squad from Des. Fortunately you have a number of other clubs pitching in so it doesn't stick out as much as other pre-season selections (*cough*Maranta-gate*cough*) but still. If the selections are anything to go by, the Dogs will bow out in the opening rounds, which is actually a shame because their pack could cause some damage. If they play through the middle with Kasiano, Garvey, Eastwood etc. they could pick up a few wins. Unfortunately their backline is incredibly green and uninspired, rendering them easy-beats. Player to Watch - Abbey Manly Tom Trbojevic, Taufua, Williame, Issac John, Jake Trbojevic, Parcell, Lawrence, Mateo, Buhrer I wouldn't be surprised to see Manly perform better this year than last. Sometimes you go into a tournament like this with high profile players, they're rusty and the plays they go for simply don't come off on the day. That's what Manly's 2015 campaign came across like. This year with the Trbojevic brothers around, Parcell and Mateo they find themselves with a really solid core that could trouble plenty of sides. On paper, not the best looking side but pending on who the Broncos name, could easily find themselves in the finals. Player to Watch - Matt Parcell Melbourne Munster, Koroibete, Kennar, Green, Hampton, Asofa-Solomona, Seluini, Finucane, Harris Like Dessie, the Auckland 9s is merely an obligation for Bellamy and an opportunity to get his players on the paddock. I'm really surprised by the lack of Slater in this squad, it seemed like he was the face of this year's competition and would be at the forefront of all the media appearances. It's disappointing, but at least it gives us an opportunity to watch Cameron Munster. Of all the players, I believe Munster was one of the form players at the back-end of the 2015 season and I'm excited to see what the future holds for young Cam. It's fair to say he holds the key, but I struggle seeing them pass the pool stages unless Souths and Sydney name similar sides. Player to Watch - Joe Stimson
