So who is going to take this year's prize money, folks? Looking through all the pools, I believe we'll see the following teams duke it out in the finals. Cowboys - Defending premiers and they've got a pretty similar team with a few new additions. Don't expect them to do quite as well as last time but they'll be there abouts. Souths - Beyond looking at names like Angus Crichton & Tom Hughes, players I've barely heard of, I didn't realise how decent their squad was. Luke, Burgess, Reynolds, Walker...they've got some players who can do some real damage in this tournament and given how weak their pool is, I believe they'll get through but be fodder in the finals. Warriors - Are my picks to win this tournament. Sort of your classic case of 'you've got to lose one in order to win one' let's be honest, they should have won last year but they choked against a spirited Cowboys outfit that had no expectations placed on them. This year, I believe they have a stronger roster and they'll be your champions. Titans - Just have more speed and skill than the other guys who I'm convinced just named a team so they could fulfill their obligation. They won't do much in the finals. Manly - Was really surprised by their squad. I didn't expect Toovey to name both Foran and DCE but now that both are there, I could see them going pretty far. Newcastle - Expect more of the same from them, except Mullen shouldn't get injured and completely ruin their campaign. Speedy backs and a couple of big boppers who can control the middle, wouldn't be surprised to see them challenge the Warriors in the finals. Sydney - Remind me a lot of Manly in the sense that they've got their first choice halves pairing, a couple of big name forwards as well as some exciting youngsters. In one of the weaker pools, I expect them to get through. Broncos - Fingers crossed because on paper, they look weak but I'm expecting big things out of McCullough, Milford and the Nikorima boys. I can see them surprising a few people but will ultimately be eliminated in the finals quite easily.
