Re: Round 16 Discussion Due to the sheer lack of quality discussion on LU, I only ever read a couple of threads on there which haven't been trolled (although I'm not sure these types of threads exist anymore)... anyway, as such, seeing as I don't visit a dedicated Rabbitohs forum either, I'm not privy to these Souths supporters spruiking the Rabbitohs' impressive history. Really, the only Souths supporters I've come across on the net are Twiztid and Playboy Bunny - both supporters who clearly know their stuff and who I respect the opinions of. That said, what you've described doesn't sound any different from the supporters of other clubs. The majority of fans of sports teams all over the world head into every new season full of hope and positive predictions - there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. They can be realistic if they want, but there's no fun in that. What enjoyment as a supporter of a struggling team would you get heading into every season predicting the worst? None whatsoever, so why do it? If your teams got a successful history, why not be proud of it? It's all apart of being a sports fan - bigging up your team. That's not enough of a reason for me to 'hate' a team - just because their supporters are proud of their history. If the Broncos didn't win a premiership for the next 20 years, I'd go around telling everyone how we were the best team in the 90's/00's. There's no shame in that. I'm not calling anyone's opinions tiresome and pathetic, I'm calling this 'Lol@Souths' crap tired and pathetic. It's become a stale cliche, which in my opinion is completely devoid of any humour. Didn't some saddos make a banner with it and take it to the Knights/Rabbitohs match earlier this year? I find that oh so lame. Then again, I haven't read the thread about it on LU, nor have I attempted discussion with some of the trolls (seemingly 90% of members) on there. Whatever though, it's late and I'm tired, so maybe I've completely missed the point of what we're discussing here. From my point of view, there's nothing I greatly dislike about Souths. They got kicked out of the comp, fought their way back in and are finally starting to make some inroads. Much to admire about that IMO. Could've been easy for everyone to sit on their arses and just give up on their team, but they didn't and their team is finally starting to perform to a level worthy of their supporter base. If they cheated the salary cap to win a couple of premierships, well yeah, I'd hate them, but for now, I think Souths are alright. In fact, I'm going to coin new term - 'Souths are alright in my book'. Sorry if it's not as utterly hilarious as that other one!
