Re: Round 16 Discussion Actually, LOL@5(c)uff$ typed that way, is a very 2012 thing, since it refers to Souths 5 captains. Regardless of what you think about the idea or phenomenon, calling someone a dickhead for it, is taking it to a personal level. As I said before, I meant nothing else by it than to throw a joke in, that was relevant to the discussion at hand... There is nothing wrong to be proud about your heritage and history, but there is a lot to hate about using it to try to demonstrate superiority to clubs who have achieved so much more than yours in the last 40 years. I don't see supporters from any other team act so foolish about their team's hopes and chances. Under McGuire this year, Souths has as good a chance as any to finally break the hoodoo of putting together a positive season. While I acknowledge that, they are not the world beaters most supporters claim they are, and I'd love nothing more than to see those supporters put back in their place with another 9th place this season. And trust me, I would definitely LOL! It's one thing to be positive and believe in your team, which every supporter should do. It's an entire different thing to act like your team is finally going to get what "they're entitled to", because they are the pride of the league, blah blah. Most other teams who haven't won anything in a long time have supporters who can be as passionate as any other, but most will be humble and realistically hopeful about their team's chances. It's what I do, and my team IS an NRL powerhouse! I respect the second ones a lot, and totally despise the first. They remind me of soccer supporters who live in the past and refuse to acknowledge their team is no longer at the top of the food chain. Gotta love "the media did it" excuse for the fans outrageous claims, and now also for the Inglis saga, or the Luke Lewis saga in a recent past. You can believe what you want... Me, I see a club poaching players who have committed to other clubs, but just haven't put pen to paper. To me that is simply of the lowest moral and ethical values you can think of. This goes for the club's leaders as much as for the players in question. Inglis is a footballing freak, but a crappy human being as far as I'm concerned. And yes, I will trust the word of Andrew Gee, Hook or Paul White a 100 times over Inglis or Rusty's word! And to answer your question about what is wrong with buying players in droves... I call it cheque book rugby league, and find it despicable. To make a long story short, my reasons are very valid and strong for me. Souths is a clear example of what I hate in sports!
