Re: The Wayne Bennett Super thread! This is the logic: Boyd earned a rep jersey as a winger when he was playing on the wing at his club. He does the job quite well, and is admittedly a much better winger than Barba will ever be. Not sure why should Barba, who has never played wing in his life, take that spot? Unless you think that wing and fullback are the same thing? Boyd has not been consistently better than Barba is this or even a previous life. You and other people talk about his prowess under the high ball, which is admittedly Ben's weakness, and also the only thing Boyd is better than Barba at. Barba saves more tries, scores more tries, sets up more tries, passes better, kicks better, is more elusive and as fast, if not faster than Boyd (when slimmed down to a normal weight). His weakness under the high ball did not stop him from winning the fullback Dally M, and the only reason he didn't get the Qld fullback spot at the time, is because there's a guy called Billy Slater hogging the jersey with the 1 on the back. Hook eventually realised that having Barba doing both Fullback and 5/8 duties didn't work with Hoffman stifling almost every attack that went to our left side, besides mining Barba's already suffering confidence. So he put the guy with a clue at 5/8 and our left side started working better, more so when they put a guy with a clue at fullback as well. I don't know who should wear the 1 or 6 out of Barba and Milford, as there is a whole pre-season to determine that, but for now, with the form Milford showed and the combinations starting to work between Hunt and Barba, the only logical thing to do, is to leave Barba at 6 and Milford at 1, even if the kid prefers to play in the halves. Boyd really doesn't hold a candle to either of them. I never mentioned anything about stopping supporting my team, regardless of the decisions they make, but it will be a sad sad day if scum like Packer ever wears the proud Broncos jersey, and although I will always remain a Broncos fan, it's likely I won't renew my membership or go to a live game if that happens. It has nothing to do with the coaches choices or Packer's value as a player (which he doesn't have either in my view), but with my morals and values! Btw, being a yes man does not make you a better fan than anyone else...
