Interesting how S'uA made 45 tackles which is fantastic, but all their tries were from memory down our right hand side - shows the value of Gillett, hey. although great experience for Jaydn. Hunt is our half and NOT a hooker - and we need to stick with him and the coaching staff need to re-build his confidence which for mine is the 1st of 2 fundamental issues. That 1st issue is general consistent effectiveness for the whole 80 minutes. He just isn't. The 2nd issue for me is his lack of - again, effective, consistent options: his short kicking game is one (when he decides to use it it works a treat as we see last night), his erratic combination with Milford, and his under-use of Roberts as an option on the right. Yes, Hunt-Gillett are starting to fire a lot more and the results are obvious which is excellent, but still, for mine, insufficient, and the under-use of Roberts is something I just can't get my head around, be it Hunt or Milford setting him up, or just the way in which we don't use him as, say, we used Hodges. I think Roberts is an ideal replacement for Hodges in more ways than just as a centre. The game plan you describe above is well and good and it works a lot of the time to great effect, however it is becoming predictable, defensible as we are seeing more and more, and, one way out of that is, I reckon, if our right hand side (especially Roberts as well as Gillett) is used more effectively and more often before we swing left. And yet again, it is not just about Hunt, it is also about Milford too, and more specifically, why Hunt and Milford don't work together much more than they do. When they do ... and I keep returning to those wonderful inside-out combos - as a unit, they are a game breaker. Please tell me what I am missing?
