My point being "exclusive" means "I'm only telling you" or "I'm telling you first" not "this is the first time it's been told by anyone," though this is obviously the holy grail of an "exclusive." As for why I mostly only read the quotes - because that's how I read the media in general. It's a muscle memory thing. Despite what you might think, I don't put much stock in journalists, but not for the reasons being put forward here. They generally don't understand what they're writing. Badel appears to play the quote farming role at the Mail. Meyn seems to write most of the padding. But I don't know who does what there. Not a lot of style makes it through. [/QUOTE]
