Bennett built the club over 2 decades always on the basis of he making all key decisions and appointments that related to football performance. News knew that. Throwing a few obstacles in front of WB that they knew he'd never agree to ensured both their agendas were realised. 1. No Bennett. 2. Still looking good to their investors and supporters by at least 'opening discussions' with Wayne.
