THE man who moulded Queensland Maroons hulking hitman Josh Papalii backs Brisbane Broncos Holden Cup player George Fai to make his presence felt next season. Fai completed his first season with the Broncos with an impressive Holden Cup grand final performance on Sunday, October 5, where he came off the bench to record 115m.The 18-year-old shined in his debut season with the NRL club and is still eligible to play two more seasons for the club’s under-20 side.Broncos Logan Academy Manager Brian Edwards scouted Fai while the 102kg prop was playing at Marsden State High School. Edwards said the Australian schoolboys representative was just beginning to show what he can do at the elite level.“The experience for him at 18 is extremely beneficial and his time on the field in the final was probably some of the best footy he has played this year,” Edwards said.“It was the toughest theatre out there for someone his age but he showed he can play and had some strong carries.“He had a good impact off the bench and was well used.”Edwards said Fai would continue to enhance his ability and stature in the competition in the coming year.“For George it is all about development and that’s exactly what is happening with him,” Edwards said.“I think he will grow into a better player again next year.“It is pretty rare for someone to play three years in the Holden Cup but even George himself should be looking to play in the Queensland Cup in the third year.” http://www.couriermail.com.au/questnews/logan/officials-back-brisbane-broncos-holden-cup-player-george-fai-to-make-presence-felt-in-2015/story-fni9r220-1227138180665
