Michael Devere wasn't signed nor chased by the Broncos until after Boyd's departure and even then the Broncos had to do some work with the salary cap just to fit him in(indicating they didn't have a lot of room to work with, which kind of contradicts the arguement they had plenty to put aside and still go after Hunt and Folau) and they do so as a shortterm fit to the backline, as for Gorrell getting rid of him would have meant we would have to replace him with a similarly priced player.
