What ***** me right off is the fact that we can't just do what the best teams do. We can't live offside, we can't leave early to get line speed. We can't hold down in tackles, we can't grub up. The moment we try, we get penalised or 6-again'd out of the game, and we are told that we need to fix our discipline. What I saw between the Roosters and Storm the other night was an absolute disgrace. Two teams that are allowed to get away with so much that it's laughable to pretend that we just need to "get better". Let's take away the conspiracy bullshit and look at it without any "why", it is absolutely undeniable that we get shafted in just about every facet of the game. Blair -> Lodge -> TPJ > Flegler. Whoever is our "enforcer" they get raped by the refs and the judiciary. There is no debating this, there is a clear and undeniable pattern. Had any of the above carried on like NAS, JWH, or Radley do, while they were still in our jersey, they would be gone for half a season and the media would escort them out of the code. How do we overcome this? There is no mistaking that we've been poor with our handling, and making tactical mistakes at certain moments on the field, and you add this to the players we have injured, this has led to far more fatigue than an NRL team can overcome, resulting in ineffective defence and a leaking of points. We need to sort those things out. But even if we do, even if we play games that are almost blemish free (eg, against the Panthers earlier this year), we are still refereed out of games by either deliberate or subconscious bias. The Broncos as an organisation needs to throw their weight around with the NRL and get some kind of explanation or at least an acknowledgement, so we can be allowed to compete on a level playing field. Or, we tell the NSWRL to go **** themselves and go full Super League.
